General overview
Comfortable 2-bedroom modern cottage with a fabulous location - only 2 blocks to Atlantic Avenue's shops, restaurants, and bars, and a short walk (or Freebee e-golf cart ride) to our blug-flag designated beach.
There's something for everyone in Delray Beach, Florida! Our beach town of 70,000 people has been designated an All-American City 3 times.
The cottage is next door to our main house where we live full time.
The space
The living and kitchen areas offer a fresh open style with a comfy feel. There's a large modern desk for when you want to work remotely, cable TV with a soundbar for when you want to chill, and strong wifi for both!
The kitchen is equipped with a stainless steel stove/oven, fridge and microwave -- all new in 2020 when the cottage was redesigned and renovated. Dine inside at the bar or bistro table or outdoors in your private courtyard with a gas grill. Don't want to cook? You can literally stroll to world-class restaurants, bars, and music venues on Atlantic Avenue.
Each bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and ample closet space and drawers for extended stays (or use the private washer and dryer). One bedroom is connected to the full bath; the other has its own TV.
The courtyard is small, private and fenced. There is dedicated driveway parking for 2 vehicles (or you can use that area as an extended outdoor space). The entrance is well-lit and filled with huge murals.

Neighbourhood
We are in downtown Delray Beach, two blocks from Atlantic Avenue ("the Ave") with shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, art galleries, museums... We are also walking distance from Delray's main public beach, which was recently designated a blue-flag beach.
Our residential neighborhood, Osceola Park, is artsy and friendly, and hosts annual neighborhood gatherings, such as the Mango Fest (the area used to be a Mango Grove) and Art in the Alley (where we paint panels that are hung on fences to beautify our alleys).

Susan & Doug
Originally from the Washington, DC area, now empty-nesters of two globe-trotting sons and living near the beach in sunny Florida, Doug and Susan met in 7th grade band, fell in love at Jazz Fest in New Orleans, and taught their kids to embrace life. Both have traveled to all 50 states in the US.
When the kids were young, we lived in the Costa Rican jungle, traveled throughout South America and Southeast Asia during a family sabbatical, and moved to Santiago, Chile. The boys attended United World College (UWC) - Carter in Changshu, China; Quinn near Pune, India. Carter studied Mandarin in Shanghai, China, attended Macalester College in St. Paul, MN, was Fulbright teaching assistant in Taipei, Taiwan, and for 2024-2025 will be an English teacher at Futuro Verde in Costa Rica. Quinn graduated from Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam and is traveling through Latin America this year (currently working on a farm through World Packers).
