General Overview

We love that our home is spacious, calm and perfect for family life. The garden and terrace are great for children, and the neighbourhood is very safe and friendly. We enjoy being close to parks, playgrounds and the beautiful old town of Salzburg, as well as numerous hiking paths starting right in front of our doorstep. It's a wonderful base for exploring Salzburg and the mountains and lakes around it.

The Space

We live here as a family of 3 when not travelling The apartment suits couples or families, recommended for up to 4-5 travelling together. The main bedroom has a queen-sized bed, and the second bedroom features a large sofa—most comfortable for 1. The office space has a pull-out bed, also for up to 2 people with an small ensuite with shower. Two other (small) bathrooms inklude a seperate Guest-toilette and a major room with bathtub. The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, including a dishwasher, oven, microwave, kettle, coffee machine, and a full-sized fridge/freezer There’s also a dining area, a cosy living space, and fast Wi-Fi throughout. A washing mashine is in the appartment and a dryer is available in the common room for your convenience. Supermarket, a park and public transport are all within walking distance 200-300 meters away. First cafes and restaurants rather in 1000 meters. Next to the park, there is a station for local trains departing every 30 mins that can take you to neighboring Bavaria or deep into the mountain side of Austria. Salzburg Main Station can easily be reached by Bus (every 10 mins).

Guest Access

Our spacious 111 m² family home is located on the ground floor of a quiet residential building in Salzburg. However, there are a few steps to master in oder to enter the appartment and to switch rooms occasionally.

Neighbourhood

Situated in a calm dead-end street, from here you can start your hike to local Salzburg's favorite "Gaisberg" . Same with biking along the Salzach-River. Salzburg Old-town is a must for those seeking a blend of historic buildings and lived traditions with the vibrant livestyle of a young university town. World famous coffeehouse atmosphere can be experienced as well as a stunning cultural offerings. Speaking of culture..., recommondations for authentic Austrian restaurants and "beer gardens" will be provided ;) In summer, crystal clear mountain lakes and rivers are most suitable for swimming, rafting, canyoning and boating. In winter, top-notch Skiing areas like Flachau, Obertauern or Saalbach are a 1.5 h drive away or can be reached by train or busses. Smaller areas in less than one hour. Not to miss is one of the most beautiful christmas-markets open till New Year.

Getting Around

Public transport to inner city starts some 400 meters away where you will also find the next supermarket. Same distance across the large park is a commuter train station running into neighboring Bavaria to the north (Bad Reichenhall) and further down to the south to skiing/mountain areas as far as the city of Zell am See. Various attractions covered by Tour Operators in the city like Sound-of-Music and sightseeing trips.
