I love my home because it is a mere 4 minute walk to the beach. My condo complex is a small one...only two stories, 48 units in a very residential area. It is quiet and safe. I love living in Cocoa Beach in general. It's still has a kind of cozy, small town vibe and my condo is 6 blocks south of the quaint downtown area with lots of restaurants and shops. And, there's the Tiki Trolley or the bus which stops right at the corner by my building if you don't want to walk!
.
The space
My home is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo that is 1089 sq feet. It has tons of natural light and a lovely view of a grassy common area filled with palm trees and our fabulous community pool and tennis courts. The way my condo is situated, I have tons of privacy. There's no other unit "looking into" mine. In fact, I think I have rolled down my living room shade maybe 4 times in 4 years! I love the open feeling of having my sliding doors open and my screened in porch being an extension of the living area.
I feel happy when I walk into my condo. The words that I hear the most from first time visitor is "artsy" and "beachy".
Guest access
I am on the 2nd floor. There is no elevator. There are about 16 steps. I'm sorry but there is no wheelchair accessibility.
Notes
Of course, Cocoa Beach is an easy day trip to any of the major Orlando area theme parks.... Disney, Sea World, Universal Studios. And, here on the Space Coast we have Kennedy Space Center, the fabulous Cape Canaveral Port with lots of restaurants and, of course, the award winning Brevard County Zoo. There is soooo much to do in this area of Florida. We also have rocket launches all the time which are easily visible from 6th St beach

Neighbourhood
My condo is in a very residential neighborhood. There are no high rise condos in my neighborhood. There are a lot of single family homes and small condo complexes.
Getting to my home
The main road coming into Cocoa Beach is 528. It comes directly from the Orlando International Airport and there is an exit from I 95 as well.
Nearest airport
If you're flying, you can come to Orlando International Airport which is a 45 min drive. Or you can fly into Sanford/Orlando Airport which is a very small airport and is an hour and 15 minute drive from Cocoa Beach.
Getting around
It's going to be best to have a car. There is a bus system that loops around Cocoa Beach and there's a privately owned Tiki Trolley that can shuttle people to and from Downtown Cocoa Beach.

Hello! I am very new to the home exchange adventure! But, I'm excited. I am a widow, age 69 (for a few more months) and I am retired, living in Cocoa Beach, Florida. I am a "situational extrovert" which is to say that I'm pretty introverted with spurts of extrovert behavior. I am a very low maintenance, laid back person. I don't smoke - never have. And, I'm a light social drinker. Prior to Covid, I was a Country Line Dance Instructor but now I am just doing private events and such. I am also a Death Educator/End of Life Doula and I volunteer with Hospice. At this point in my life, I am looking to branch out and have new experiences. I think home exchange is a way to do that within my budget. I'm happy to answer any other questions about me or my home.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
This is the crossover to my beach.... 6th St South. It is approximately a 5 min (or less) walk! It's NEVER crowded! It does not have a life guard station.
These kitchen pictures were taken before I moved in. Kitchen still looks the same but with all my personal stuff out.

This is the shower in the master bath. It is a tall, skinny shower but plenty of room to do what needs to be done! :)
