Neighbourhood
Our home is just a 2 mile bike or drive to Siesta Key Beach, one of the best beaches in Florida. We love to pop over to catch the sunset. We are happy to share all of our favorite beaches in the area. Have fun going for a paddle through the mangroves, spotting wildlife, or going to the beach to collect shells or sharks teeth!
Some other fun attractions:
1. John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art - the grounds are beautiful!
2. Marie Selby Botanical Gardens - two locations.
3. Sarasota Jungle Gardens
4. Mote Marine Aquarium - we love their children’s classes too!
There are also beautiful state parks, such as Oscar Scherer and Myakka. There is so much to explore in Sarasota!
The grocery store and a ton of well-reviewed restaurants are all within 1 mile from the house.
Nearest airport
Sarasota-Bradenton Airport is about 12 miles (25 minutes) away. You could take an Uber or Lyft to our house, or I would recommend having a rental car.
Tampa International Airport is about 1 hr 15-30 min away.
Getting around
You will want to have a car to explore, but if you only want to go to the beach, restaurants and stores, then you could get by with a bike if you wanted to.
Holly and Greg’s beautiful
Home in Sarasota was the perfect place and location for siesta key lovers and of course its beautiful beach. The home was immaculate and so well organized. The pool was a delight as was the beautiful area for an evening walk when the sun went down. Holly was available at a moments notice to answer any questions. Every dining option you could imagine and stores and malls all within a mins drive of her fab location I would recommend her home 1000% . Siesta key beach is literally just over the bridge. We spent time shelling and of course eating great local seafood. Do not hesitate a swap you will certainly not regret it. Thank you Holly and Greg. Fondly, Karen and Denny.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We are happy that you enjoyed our home, and we are very grateful that we had you and Denny as our first guests! We can’t wait to explore Melbourne soon too!
Holly & family were perfect guests. They left my home in a pristine conditions and did a lot more cleaning than I requested. Holly is a great communicator both before, during and after the exchange. It was fun about to hear what they were doing and seeing.
They went apple-picking and the kids helped make a huge apple pie which I will share with my grandkids soon. Also, thanks for the Shelburne Vineyard wine.
Looking forward to visiting their home this winter and hopefully, also meeting them in person which I was unable to do when they came to my home.
Glad you first PLU visit was to my home, Holly. Glad the kids had fun on their nature walks with their Dad and enjoyed the bunny visits to my backyard 😀.
Ramani was an exceptional host! Her communication was always kind and helpful. Her home was very lovely and it’s a great location to explore the area. We visited a farm, went apple picking, did a syrup tour, hiked, and more! We loved getting out and about nearby and appreciated having Ramani’s home to relax in during our down time. Thank you for trusting our family with your home, Ramani. We look forward to hosting you in FL!
Holly and her family were perfect guests. They took great care of my home and left it clean and ready for my guest who arrived the day they left. Holly was an excellent communicator and it made it very easy to plan their visit. Holly did a lot more to get the house ready for my return and did way beyond what I had asked to be done before leaving.
Thanks, Holly for the beautiful note accompanied by a lovely and thoughtful pie made with the help of Ella & Ethan. The bottle of wine will be enjoyed too.. Come visit again!
We feel very lucky that Karen was our first PLU guest! She was always very kind and helpful in our texts. She even sent us pictures and status during her stay at our home. Since we are away for a couple of months, it was wonderful to know they were there. We are looking forward to staying at her home in the future!

We are a family of four new to home exchanging, but we love traveling! We traveled in an RV full-time for 3 years and we are now settled in Sarasota, FL. Our son is 10 and our daughter is 7 years old, and we work together as a family to leave places the same, or better, than we found it. We hope home exchange will be our new way of travel. We are a homeschool family, so we have some flexibility in our travels.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
