We are in the KL 'suburb' of Damansara, about 25 minutes or 18km away from the city centre.
Our house has 6 bedrooms over 3 levels (the house is 7300 square feet). It has a lift and staircase. The ground floor is our living space, and has 2 kitchens (a wet and a dry kitchen), as well as living and dining rooms overlooking our pool. The kitchen is well equipped (western style) with coffee machines, fan forced oven, large fridge / freezer, dishwasher and gas cookers. We also have a filtration unit so all water in the house is safe to drink. The house is attached on one side but completely private and quiet, and has a yard at the front and back, as well as a large deck and pool at the side.
There is also a BBQ by the pool if you prefer to cook outside with the family.
There are 2 master bedrooms, both have a jacuzzi. All bedrooms have an ensuite bathroom and shower. We have converted one bedroom to a gym where we have a treadmill and elliptical walker, as well as TV etc.
The main master bedroom has a king bed. There is another king bed in the second master. Another 2 of the bedrooms have a singe bed each for kids.(So as a total, we have 2 King Beds and 2 Single Beds, but there is also room for another bedroom with mattress if required).
As mentioned above, all bedrooms have showers and toilets, with a large jacuzzi etc in each master. The master ensuites have rain-head showers, and the top floor master has a huge skylight over the jacuzzi as well as a double head shower.
We have wifi throughout the house, as well as cable TV, Netflix, surround sound etc. We also have a Chromecast if you want to cast your own shows. We have a couple of google homes in the house, if you want to stream internet radio. There is a laundry with washer and dryer.
Our pool is cleaned regularly by our maintenance man, and our housekeeper will clean and do the laundry twice a week.
The area around is very nice. Our gated community has exceptionally good security and very little traffic. We are surrounded by golf courses and forest (yes, there is a troop of monkeys in that forest...)
About 100m from the complex gates, there are a set of shops with an international supermarket, as well as good Japanese, Thai and American BBQ restaurants. About 800m in the other direction, is a larger set of shops with a train (MRT) station. The train runs every 5 minutes or so into central, and costs about 6 ringgit. (The station is fairly new and it doesnt yet appear on Google maps)
We would prefer to keep the study closed, but all other rooms are available. Exceptions can always be made though.
A car is negotiable. We can swap or if you like, we can give you a Grab (Uber) account at our expense which is very convenient (traffic and parking in KL can be mad).
Children are welcome, but please note that we have stairs and a pool. The doors to the pool can be locked though.
Here are a few more photos of a house like ours in the same complex (obviously without furniture)

Not sure what KL has to offer? Any of these take your fancy?

Having lived in Hong Kong for 4 years, learned to fly in Chiang Mai, spent months in Bangkok, and lived in Indonesia for a year, KL is my favourite place in Asia. There is an abundance of modern malls, cafes and activities, but you really must be brave and try the local food outside the air-conditioning (I have written a couple of pages of local recommendations).
You may want to use this as a base to explore the wider area. Further afield, Malacca is about 2 hours away, Singapore is 4 hours or so, as is Penang to the North. There are some really good options closer to KL though, and I recommend somewhere about an hour such as one of these options

We also have 2 full-suspension 29er mountain bikes if you want to really get a sweat up. The Kota Damansara forest is an easy (and flat) 4km ride, and there are others here

Rumkommen
The Tropicana area is a fairly new area just to the west of KL (about 20 or 30 minutes on the MRT). It's not as built up as KL central, and has many good restaurants and shops, as well as an abundance of golf courses.
There is some really good and cheap Japanese, American (BBQ), Thai and local food within walking distance, as well as cafe's and bars. There is also an international supermarket here.
The MRT is brand new, and does not seem to be in Google maps yet (the station is, but the routes are not). The MRT into town takes about 20 minutes, not an hour and a half as google seems to think!
Some of the other places you may want to explore include
Twin towers - 25 minutes away. Also has massive shopping malls
Petaling St / Chinatown - 25 minutes away - excellent street markets and street food
Bukit Bintang - 25 minutes. KL's answer to Orchard Rd, also food street...
Botanic gardens - 20 minutes. Also has bird and butterfly gardens.
Batu caves are about 25 minutes away.
The travel times are "normal" traffic, best to avoid peak hour if possible.
As for a car, Uber (known as Grab in Asia) is very cheap (going into town will be about $5). I really do recommend taking Grab if you intend on going into the town centre (Malaysian traffic + parking = no fun). But a car is handy to see some of the other sights, or if you are here for more than a week or so and would like to pop down the local market, or regularly go for coffee etc. If you would like to exchange a car, we can certainly discuss it.
