Neighbourhood
Bethnal Green is a thriving, lively area of East London. The East End of London is a small hub and we're part of that community. It's got it's own history it's very proud of, it's own stories of immigration throughout the centuries, and it's even got its own cuisine(!).
We are incredibly well connected by tube and bus. Both of us normally cycle/walk everywhere though so can recommend some good routes for both.
We are 10mins walk away from one of UKs top parks - Victoria Park, and 5mins walk from the tube (being in Zone 2 it means it's really cheap and quick to travel around!), our place is equally convenient for those wanting to explore all East London has to offer on foot or bike.
By foot we recommend: Brick Lane, Columbia Road Flower Market, Victoria Park, the canals, Broadway Market, London Buddhist Centre.
We have an absolutely incredible array of different cuisines on our doorstep, including: Japanese, Thai, Venezuelan, Indian. We are also lucky enough to have lots of great British pubs, we love The Camel just two mins away for fabulous pies and pints!

Lovely host and lovely flat In East London. I wish I had more time to try all the restaurants and coffee shops in the area! The shopping is also amazing with different clothing stores and supermarkets to choose from . Everything is true and valid in their listing and guest comments as well. My first time doing a home exchange and they set the bar very high with excellent communication throughout the entire process.. The flat is clean and well equipped! Great location in East London and ideally situated with public transportation as well. I highly recommend to stay at there and I will definitely come back next time In London. -
We had the most fabulous few nights in Sitara and Josh’s flat. It is perfectly located, between large green spaces, a tube station and the children’s V&A museum. The flat was exactly as described and pictured. Bed was very comfortable, and we had everything we need to cook for our stay. Parking was right outside the flat - Sitara kindly sorted our permit. -
Sitara and Josh have a wonderful place that's perfectly cosy and located right next to several useful lines into Central London. Sitara is a quick communicator and a friendly host, and so generous with a welcome snack and drink for our stay!!! She also gave some excellent food recommendations that showcase the best of their neighbourhood. The flat itself is a wonderful council flat, clean kitchen and a couple of work spots in the living room, nice warm shower with good pressure and a big comfy bed. We cooked there a couple of times and found everything easy to use and straightforward. We also hosted two friends for a board game evening and found the living room perfect for that! On a side note - we even found transport very easy during the tube strike thanks to its location near an Elizabeth Line stop, so everything was very convenient! Thank you for a perfect stay and we'd be more than happy to exchange with you again in the future. -
Sitara and Josh's home a warm and cozy. We wanted to soak up the sights and sounds of London for the weekend and their place is the perfect spot to do this. Its easy to get to any of the areas of London with a tube stop just a short walk away. Their home has everything you'll need whether you want to cook at home or eat out nearby. We've been to london lots and there is always something new to see and do. We;ll definately be back. Thanks so much for having us. x -
Sitara and Josh's apartment is in Bethnal Green, an area we hadn't visited before. It is a culturaly diverse and vibrant community, providing an enormous variety of restaurants and shops closeby. Transportation links are great, different Tube lines take you to central London within 15 minutes. The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay and Sitara and Josh made us feel very welcome by leaving us some gifts and lots of information about their area, where to have the best breakfast, coffee etc. We had daily Whatsapp contact during our stay , sharing suggestions and tips. Their attentiveness greatly contributed to the wonderful time we had in London. -
Had a great trip to London. Thank you Sitara and Josh for letting us stay in your flat. It is in a great location just a short tube ride from everything we wanted to do. Sitara was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions before I even asked them. -
Sitara and Josh’s flat is the perfect base to visit London. It’s right in the center of Bethnal Green, a stone throw from the canals, parks, the City of London and with loads of transport options to reach any part of town quickly. The house has everything you need to have a comfortable stay, furthermore it is tastefully decorated. Sitara and Josh are kind and nice, extremely welcoming and helped with useful information to make my stay memorable. I am totally satisfied with the home exchange experience and I look forward to having them in my home soon. -
Sitara & Josh’s home was lovely, the perfect place for a long weekend in London. Centrally located but plenty of local charm. The apartment was wonderfully stocked with everything we needed (toiletries, wine, and a great welcome bag). Couldn’t recommend enough! -
