Our house is a single story three-bedroom home with a beautiful backyard and patio to enjoy. It is very family and kid-friendly as we have two small boys, and with the open floor plan between the kitchen, living room, and patio, there is plenty of space to spread out. The living space gets lots of natural sunlight and there is direct access to the back deck from both the dining room and master bedroom. We live in a quiet and friendly neighbourhood, with only a 5-10 minute walk to the lake and trails around it for biking and walking. There are several fantastic day hikes to check out right around Lake Hāwea, and many outdoor activities to enjoy in the area.
The Space
The master bedroom has a super king bed and ensuite (with separate toilet and shower), and direct access to the backyard deck. The second bedroom is currently set-up for our toddler with a single bed, but can also be converted to a king size bed if needed. The third bedroom is currently a nursery for our baby, but can have a single bed set-up if needed. The main bathroom has a separate shower and bathtub. Our kitchen is quite spacious and well set-up for cooking, and enjoying casual eating around the bench or socialising while making a coffee with our barista coffee machine. There is a separate laundry room with washing machine and dryer.
The outdoor patio is great for meals and socialising. The garden is quite spacious and private with lots of native trees and plants, and awesome birdlife. The patio is set-up to maximise views of the amazing surrounding mountains and landscape. There is also a separate fire pit area to sit around, as well as a trampoline for the kids to enjoy.

We are a little family of four nestled in the beautiful community of Lake Hāwea. We love many outdoor activities, including spending time at the lake which is conveniently only a 5-10 min walk from our place. We have family both here and in Canada, so try to make a trip over there every other year. We love to travel within New Zealand as well, so we are looking forward to joining the home exchange community!
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
