General Overview

Cosy family home set in rural alpine mountains of a small historical old gold mining town, Cardrona. Located at the bottom of New Zealand’s popular Cardrona Ski Resort, a 30 minute drive to Queenstown and 20 minute drive to Wanaka. We have 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a movie room, indoor fire, great indoor / outdoor flow, located opp the iconic Cardrona Hotel and a rivers stroll to the local cafe and general store. You will love this light filed home on the rivers edge complete with an outdoor spa. Use this home as a base to explore Wanaka, Queenstown and surrounds via day trips. Please note our home is an older style home set in a historical town and the decor is 20 years old, but the location can not be beaten! We welcome large families to come and stay, it is the perfect holiday ski home! Home can comes with a vehicles swap depending on our availability at the time of stay, or you can hire a vehicle from Queenstown. You will need a vehicle to get to town, the shops and up the mountain, public transport is very limited in this area. A confident driver is needed to cross the crown range highway in winter conditions. Heating is by fireplace or heaters located in each room, we do not have ducted heating or a heat pump.

The Space

Large 2 story home with most of the living on the first level. Sunny north facing, warm in winter with lovely walk along the rivers edge and a 2 min stroll to the local and iconic Cardrona Hotel & Pub.

Guest Access

3rd bedroom is upstairs, the rest of the living is on the first floor. First floor living is flat and easy to access.

Notes

Home is located in a small rural town with one pub and one small local coffee shop for supples. It’s a 20 minute drive to the top of Cardrona Ski field, and/or to Snow Farm Cross Country skiing.

Getting to my home

There is very limited public transport and it is a fair way out for Uber / taxis. Best mode of transport is a vehicle. Too far to walk/hike to Wānaka. We can drop car at the Queenstown airport for you to collect on arrival.
