General overview

Our home was constructed in 1908 and had been remodeled over many years. It’s an attractive and comfortable 3 bedroom, 1.25 bath one-story bungalow (1350sf) with dining room, eat in kitchen, comfortable living room and a wonderful backyard that is just made for a barbeque. We’re a bedroom community for San Francisco with great public transportation options. It’s a short 2 block walk to downtown Alameda’s restaurants and shops and a ¼ mile to Shoreline Mall and Crown Beach. Our neighbors are wonderful people that we have known for many years. This is a welcoming and safe neighborhood.

The space

There are 2 bedrooms with queen beds and an office with a sofa bed. A well equipped eat in kitchen and formal dining room. There is a recently remodeled bathroom with walk in shower and a 1/4 bathroom. The backyard is a great outdoor space.

Member description
We have always been interested in home exchange as a better way to see an area. We have lived in Alameda since 1991. We purchased the house in poor condition and remodeled it over a number of years. We are in our in our late sixties and retired in 2009. Roy worked in the environmental field and Carol as an educator. We are experience exchangers.
