Neighbourhood
We are less than an hour north of Wellington (New Zealand's capital city) by car or train. It is a safe, family friendly neighbourhood.
Paraparaumu Beach is a town on the Kapiti Coast, which consists of a string of seaside towns with plenty of cafes, restaurants and is a great location for outdoor activities.
It is very easy to visit the famous Kapiti Island, which is wildlife sanctuary. Wellington city contains lots of interesting cultural activities including New Zealand's national museum (called Te Papa). Wellington also has the reputation for its cafe/coffee culture.
Getting to my home
By car you are less than one hour north of Wellington city, or if you are on a road trip you are only a few minutes from the main highway.. There is a limited train and bus service if you have no vehicle.
Nearest airport
Wellington International Airport is one hour by car. Or can be accessed by train and bus.
Getting around
It's probably best if you have a car.
There is a cafe, mini supermarket, liquor store, fish'n'chip/Chinese takeaway and bakery within 5 minutes walk.

Grant and I enjoy an active retirement. We have a home in the South Island of New Zealand and also homes near Wellington.
We enjoy touring New Zealand in our truck camper, fly fishing and exploring new places.
We have four adult children and one grand-daughter. Two daughters live in Wellington, while the others live in Adelaide and Melbourne in Australia.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
