Neighbourhood

East Boston (or Eastie, as it's known to us locals) is an incredibly special neighborhood in Boston. We make it a point to know our neighbors, and there are all kinds of community activities, from individual community gardening, volunteer opportunities at a community farm, free concerts in the park (across the street from the house), sailing, kayaking, to seasonal art exhibits and gorgeous murals, there is always something to do or see. The Boston Harbor has many access points to take advantage of, and I highly recommend the Harbor Walk or the East Boston Greenway to stretch your legs and take in nature within the city. Eastie is a neighborhood of immigrants; it has Boston's largest Latino & Hispanic population, and it was the traditional home of the Italian immigrants in Boston, long before the North End was established. You'll find incredible Central and South American food in addition to whiskey bars, plates of pasta, and Boston's best pizza!
