Neighbourhood
Our neighbourhood strikes that magical Melbourne balance: leafy, peaceful and wonderfully connected. We're tucked away on a quiet street between the vibrant precincts of Windsor (Chapel Street), Balaclava (Carlisle Street), Elsternwick (Glen Huntly Road) and Ripponlea (Glen Eira Road). Each has its own personality, and together they offer an endless choice of exceptional cafés, wine bars, bakeries, neighbourhood pubs and restaurants. Whether you're after a lazy brunch, a special-occasion dinner or a hidden local favourite, you'll be spoilt for choice.
Melbourne is often called Australia's cultural capital, and for good reason. Spend your days discovering laneway street art, live music venues, galleries, theatres and festivals, or simply wandering neighbourhoods where every corner seems to hide another brilliant café, bookshop or wine bar. The city has a creative energy that's both edgy and effortlessly liveable, and its incredible food and coffee scene is consistently ranked among the world's best.
Nearest airport
Tullamarine airport (major international and domestic flights) is a 45 minute drive away, and can be reached by Taxi, Uber or Skybus.
Getting Around
Within 6 minutes of our front door you'll find trams, trains and bus taking you to the beach, markets and the central city, making it effortless to explore the city without a car. We are also open to considering a car swap.
When you're ready to venture beyond the city, some of Victoria's most spectacular scenery is within easy reach. Wander through towering tree fern forests, drive the iconic Great Ocean Road past dramatic coastal cliffs and charming seaside towns, or head to Phillip Island to watch the famous Penguin Parade as hundreds of little penguins waddle home from the ocean at sunset. All are around two hours away, making Melbourne an incredible base for exploring south-eastern Australia.

Friendly couple in our mid-40s, with an easy-going toddler and baby. We live to experience different cultures, share stories and discover extraordinary places.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
