Beautiful house with nice garden in national park "Veluwe". We have a big fenced garden with a play area for kids (with a treehouse). We have a spacious dining room with a big dining table. In the living room we have a wood burning stove. Two years ago we fell in love with this historic house. It has lots of charming details like ensuite doors with stained glass. But don't expect delicate vases or anything: we have two young children. Which means lots of toys (LEGO, Playmobil, Kapla) and a big bathtub ;-)

Notes
Heerde is a small town, but so is the entire country: you can be in Amsterdam in an hour. If you love nature, you will love Heerde. There are several options for an active day in the woods: hiking, mountain biking, swimming etc. You can even watch wild animals (wild boar, deer) with a forester.
In Zwolle, which is a 15 minute drive away, there are several cultural options for you and your kids.
We have made a binder with instructions for the house and with tips for outings and restaurants and such.
We have two chickens who run free in the garden.

Beautiful, characteristic house with an even better very large garden that was our kids favorite. Small, pictoresque village yet with everything you need only a 5 min stroll away. We loved the bike rides to the nature reserve area (Veluwe). Simply perfect!
We had a great stay in their house. The kids enjoyed playing with their toys and feeding the chickens. Everything in Heerde is within walking distance or easily reached by bicycle. It was very nice that they had bicycles that we could borrow. In the mornings we would cycle to the local bakery for great croissants. In the middle of town there were deer and bunnies that we visited every morning. The kids absolutely loved it. We really liked our stay in Holland, there is so much to see, and so many nice cheeses to taste😊
Perfect guests, we would love to welcome them any time again.
Our house was left in perfect condition. It was very nice to come home to. We can definitely recommend them as a guests. While they were staying in our house, they sent photos of their children playing in our house and garden, our children loved that.
What a fantastic house in the perfect location in Scheveningen. In the morning, a triple roll over from home and you're on the beach. The house is fully equipped and the professional coffee machine is not bad either. What is certainly a plus is the available surf equipment. Actually, after 4 nights, we were not ready to go home at all. We really enjoyed it!
This was RJ's first home exchange but I think they had just as much fun as we did.
They were wonderful guests and we would love to welcome them again some time!
We had a very pleasant stay in the nice house in Randers. The house was neat and clean and fully equipped (a relief if you are on holiday with small children). The children played wonderfully in the large garden with trampoline and all the other toys. They also loved the large collection of Lego. We really enjoyed the house and the area. We can absolutely recommend the house!
We have had a very pleasant contact! It was nice to get a picture of them in our house during the exchange. They left our house so tidy that it looked as if no one had been there. Definitely a great first experience with home exchange.

Maarten en Ruth
Hello there! We are Maarten en Ruth and we live in Heerde, the Netherlands with our two boys Otis and Arthur and our baby Julot. We had our first -successful- home exchange last summer and love to explore other destinations! We love the concept of trust and sustainability that comes with a home exchange. We are clean people and we will treat your belongings with respect. We are looking for a family home that is located in an area with a good balance between nature and culture. And, although we love pets, we are very allergic to cats.
