General Overview

Our home is a 4 bedroom- 3 bathroom single family home with a great, lush backyard (with a trampoline) in a very family-friendly community. We have a community pool and jacuzzi just down the street that is beautiful and relaxing. There are many families with young children, and a school at the end of the street, which makes it extra safe. There are lots of parks nearby, and we are 4 miles to the BEAUTIFUL beaches of Encinitas and Carlsbad, only a 10-minute drive to Legoland, 30- minute drive to the Zoo, Safari Park and Seaworld. We have a beautiful stone fireplace for winters, and an open, airy vibe for summers. You will feel relaxed and welcome here.

The Space

Spacious cozy living room with AC and fireplace, large dining room and formal living room. Backyard has lush plants and outdoor dining. Primary bedroom has on-suite bathroom. We also have a first floor bedroom for accessibility.

2 story home, but has bedroom and bathroom on first floor.

Notes

We have a 4-year old, people-pleasing, friendly, cuddly dog named Molly. She is a rescue "mutt," about 45 pounds, short hair, has all her shots, and is very easy-going.

Neighbourhood

Community pool and jacuzzi, elementary school, Legoland, beaches, parks. Legoland is 10 minutes away (driving). There are several beaches within 4 miles (10 minutes driving). We are a 30-minute drive to the World Famous San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Safari Park. 30 minutes to Seaworld 45 minutes to Sesame Place 1.5 hours to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure 1.5 hours to Los Angeles 45 minutes to Tijuana 2.5 hours to ski/ snowboard mountains

Getting to my home

San Diego Airport is a 30 minute drive, or you can take the train to Encinitas and take the bus or an uber to my home. Carlsbad is a much closer airport (only 10 minutes away), but it is small and has limited flights.

We are a family of 3 residing in beautiful, sunny San Diego California. We love to travel and experience different cultures! My husband, Chris, and I both work in Education (he's a teacher and I'm a School Counselor), and our daughter, Hannah, is in Kindergarten, so we have a lot of time off in the summer to travel :) We are brand new to home exchange, but I personally studied abroad in Madrid for 4 months in 2009, where I lived with a host family and traveled all over Europe. I also did Semester at Sea, and did short study abroad experiences during grad school to Thailand and Hong Kong, Costa Rica, and Kenya. My daughter loves to swim so the ocean and/or pools are a big plus for us.
