Neighbourhood

We live in a quiet neighbourhood, opposite a park with a playground, tennis court and pump track. Supermarkets, the library and woodland areas are all within a 5 minute walk away. We are only a short cycle ride, bus journey or walk along the street or the river (around 2 miles) to the beautiful and historic centre of Cambridge, where you can go punting along the river, visit the many museums, look around the Cambridge colleges, go shopping, go to the theatre and lots more. We are also only 2 miles away from the central train station, with trains every half an hour which take you to central London (Kings Cross St Pancras) or connect you to the Eurostar to Paris, in 50 minutes. There are lots of nature reserves nearby. The closest are: Byron's Pool, Wandlebury Country Park and the Gog Magog Downs. There are lots of other interesting and historic towns and cities within a 30 minute drive or train journey, such as Ely and Saffron Walden. The Norfolk and Suffolk coastline and beaches are only a 1.5 hour drive away and are also accessible by train or bus.

Nearest airport

Stansted airport is the closest airport and only 25 minutes away, but our home is also close to the M11, which also gives easy access to London, and both Heathrow and Gatwick are around a 1.5 hour drive away.

Getting around

We are a short walk from local shops and supermarkets and we have excellent transport links: the bus stop is a 2 minute walk away, the train station is 2 miles away and easily accessible along the guided busway and we are close to the M11 and A14 out of the city by road. We also have a number of bicycles, including children's seats and an electric cargo bike with a cab for 2 children.
