General Overview
Our home was built in 2025. It is bright and spacious with stunning views of the lake. The house is partially secluded by an island on the lake offering lots of privacy.
The wooded area outside has a fire pit and seating and gently slopes down to the lake, where there is a canoe, kayaks, and a pedal boat and a small ‘beach’ area at the water.
The cottage is on a private road with 5 other houses on Lower Buckhorn Lake.
The Space
Our cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms (one ensuite)and a large, open plan, kitchen, dining, sitting area all on the same level. There is also a deck off the lounge area with a barbecue and seating area, and stairs down to the lake level. There are also stairs to the (unfinished) basement, which has gymnastics equipment and a games area and patio doors to access the lake. We home educate our children so the space is perfectly set up for families.
Guest Access
There are steps up to the front door and stairs to access the lake level. The whole living area is on one level aside from the (unfinished) basement.

Neighbourhood
The house is a 10 minute drive from Buckhorn, which has a grocery store, hardware store, general store, post office, pharmacy, LCBO, an ice cream shop, 3 restaurants and a playground.
The quaint town of Lakefield is a 20 minute drive away and Peterborough, the nearest city, is 35 minutes away. Toronto is a 1.5 hour drive away. There are 4 ski hills which are all around an hour’s drive away.
Getting to my home
The nearest international airport is Toronto Pearson. The GO bus links Toronto to Peterborough and there are local buses that stop near Buckhorn, but the easiest way to get around is by car.
