General overview
Ideal single level home for family and friends to gather perfectly nestled in the historic Windsor Park neighborhood of Brunswick to take advantage of all that the Golden Isles offers to relax and unwind. St. Simons Island causeway (.5 mile) and Jekyll Island causeway (3.25 miles) are a very short drive away. The Pondhouse is just off the marsh with an abutting tidal pond and Howard Coffin Park, the largest park in Brunswick, is just across the street with a brand new playground for the little ones or for the kid in all of us along with lighted tennis and pickle ball courts, 4 meticulously maintained baseball/softball fields, aquatic center, soccer fields, indoor basketball court with community center and a brand new lighted 1/2 mile walking/jogging track. Directly across from the park is the tidal marsh with a fishing pier and numerous charter fishing boats are for hire a short distance away waiting to take you for a glorious day on the water. The Pondhouse’s unabated locale across from the marsh lends itself to a cooling sea breeze almost everyday, even during the heat of a Georgia summer, so if you decide to just sit a spell you can swing by the pond under the shade of a Spanish moss covered live oak, barbecue aside the pond or just kick your feet up by the firepit while Mother Nature gently does her thing! A two stall cactus topped carport even keeps your cars cool! Also close by is downtown Brunswick (3/4 mile) with its quaint shops and eateries and Old Town with it’s beautiful 1800’s Victorian homes and live oak lined streets, including Lover’s Oak (1/2 mile). If shopping or comfort food calls, every store and restaurant imaginable is located off Golden Isles Parkway less than 5 miles away. The Pondhouse is not an investor owned property ... this is our recently purchased and lovingly restored 1939 vacation home but since we can’t be on vacation all the time as that work thing gets in the way, it excites us to be able to share our happy place with other families and friends looking for some quality time away.
