General overview

A very pleasant, colorful house in one of Groningen's greenest suburbs. It's a warm and cozy house, where you feel at right home the moment you enter through the door. Around the house we have a small garden, with 4 different sitting areas, and on top of the garage there is a 5th sitting area. We have three cats and one dog. During an exchange we can ask a family member to take our dog in house, but the three cats will be under your care.

The space

The 50m2 living room with 2 sittings areas wraps around a fire place, and flows directly into the open kitchen and the dining room. We have three bedrooms, with in total 6 sleeping places (1 double bed(210x180), 1 single bed (210x90), and 3 guest beds.

Guest access

The living room, kitchen and 1 toilet are at the ground floor, the bedrooms and bathroom are at the 1st floor, and we have an attic which is used for storage.

Notes

We have 3 bikes available that you can use. As Groningen is such a compact city, biking is the most common way to get around.

Neighbourhood

Groningen is a lively university city with a young and international population, but as it is located in the quiet north of the Netherlands, and it's relatively small size it has an authentic and local feel. It's downtown area is 15 minutes by bike or 10 minutes by bus from our house, and overflows with restaurants, cafe's, theatres etc. A small mall with supermarkets, drugstore, butcher, bakery etc. is at 2 minutes walking distance.

Nearest airport

We have a local airport nearby, but it has very limited international connections. The most logical airport to use is Amsterdam, that's 2 hrs by car or 2.5 hrs by train from Groningen

Getting around

A small mall with supermarkets, drugstore, butcher, bakery etc. is at 2 minutes walking distance. The bus stop to the city centre is also at that mall.
