Neighbourhood
Alice Springs is a small town and a tourist centre, 11km south of the Tropic of Capricorn. As the service centre for all of Central Australia it has facilities that reflect much larger regional centres and metropolitan cities.
Getting to my home
Alice Springs Airport is between 10 and 15 minutes from the house, The Ghan Passenger Train links Alice Springs to both Darwin to the north and Adelaide to the south. Uluru has an airport (Yulara). The drive to/from Uluru is approx 400km, 4 hours drive; Adelaide and Darwin, both approx 1500km - 15 hours driving. All those roads are sealed (not dirt). We overnight when driving to both Adelaide and Darwin. The Stuart Highway, north and south, is largely an unfenced road and driving after dark is hazardous, with cattle and kangaroos (even emus) more likely to be on or near the road after dark.

We have travelled extensively, our favourite destinations are Europe, North, Central and South America and Japan .... but we will consider offers from anywhere, as we love learning about new places.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
