General overview

A bright house with garden at just a 10 min bike ride away from the centre of historical Hoorn. Also a 10 min bike ride away from the train station which connects you directly to Amsterdam and all the other cities in the Netherlands. A bus station is just in front of the house. A compact shopping centre is within two minutes biking or 5 minutes walking. In summer it is amazing to swim in the huge Marker Lake with its beautiful park just next to it. The city of Hoorn offers lots of beautiful sights (a real golden age treasure) and wonderful restaurants/cafe's. You can rent a boat nearby or have dinner on the beach of the lake. Amsterdam is literally 30 min with the direct train and also has endless amazing places to discover.

The space

Our cozy and bright child friendly home, offers 1x double bed (200x180cm), 1x small bed (180cm) in the kids room and three places bunk bed in the other kids room. One bathroom with a spacious shower, toilet and another toilet downstairs. A spacious open kitchen and a dinner table for 6 people. It is possible to leave the car just in front of the house and you can use our three bikes to enjoy the surroundings and become a real Dutchie. Due to our daughter of 2,5 we have a toddler swing and a a sandbox for kids.

Notes

Our lovely cat will be there too if the exchange is not in the Netherlands. If it is, we will probably bring her with us if she is welcome in the other house.

Neighbourhood

At just a few minutes you can visit the beautiful little and historical city of Hoorn. The centre offers lots shops, restaurants, cafe's. In summer it is wonderful to rent a boat or a kano to discover the city. The trains and busses are also just 10 minutes away with the bike and just opposite the city centre. At walking distance of our home you can find a small shopping centre with two super markets, drugstores, a really good fish shop, bakery, butcher, a small beautystudio and a kiosk.

Getting around

The busstation is at the end of the street and directly brings you to the train station. there are three bikes available for use. One with a kids seat on the back.

Abby

We are a Dutch, Spanish, Indonesian family living in a wonderful and bright house in Hoorn (30 min away from Amsterdam city). We adopted the sweetest and easiest cat (named Mogi) that loves to cuddle and play. We love hiking, the ocean, cultural places and have a two very curious baby girls of now 4 years and 1 year old. We love to discover new places and are open to different locations.
