Neighbourhood

Through the back gate you will find Aireys general store for all of your basic needs- fresh sourdough bread each morning, groceries, liquor, and fuel. Also a lovely French cafe for coffee and pastries in the morning, or a wine and a cheese platter or meal in the evening. The Gin kitchen for cocktails and Asian tapas is also 2 minutes walk away. Also other lovely cafes and gift stores. 7 mins walk down the road is Aireys Pub for drinks and meals. Medical centre 5 mins walk away, pharmacy 3 minutes. Beach at end of the road in 7 minutes walk time, cliff top walk also right there. Beautiful 15 to 20 minute clifftop walk to the historic Aireys Inlet Lighthouse tearooms for scones and a cuppa. You hardly need to use your car. But a drive down the Great Ocean Rd toward Wye River is a must - so have it there!!!! Enjoy as you drive through seaside towns of Lorne, Wye River and Apollo Bay. The road trip is famous for its stunning coastal vistas.

Melbourne. 1 hour 40 mins

Getting around

Most of what you will need is out through the back gate, but a larger supermarket and more extensive shops are available in Anglesea - 10 mins away, or Lorne, half an hour away. Lovely towns for wandering and window shopping before a swim

We are a semi retired couple in our late 50s who love travel and house swapping, and have made some wonderful friends through past exchanges.
