Neighbourhood
Large supermarket and award winning boulangerie (bakery) right downstairs. The supermarket is significant because many city markets are tiny and expensive. This one is more of a full service reasonable supermarket. Pharmacy one block away. Cafe in the park around the corner with lake view for crepes (savory & sweet) and coffee! If you know city life well you may have an idea how special it is to have such a large and beautiful park so close. It’s very well used by all from international university students and professors from across the road, to children who enjoy the carousel and playground to walkers and those who enjoy a coffee and crepe by the lake and waterfall!
If you want a friendly (bilingual staff), comfort food meal available all day (unusual in France) there’s a great, affordable place about 6 minutes walk. There are a couple of pizza places close, a few blocks in the other direction a friendly brasserie (bar/restaurant) with all the basics plus fresh oysters! Of course , there are French restaurants and also a number of Asian restaurants. Really every type of food and atmosphere is available . Multi lingual bookstore on the corner and beautiful international university as well.
Nearest airport
CDG and ORY. Orly is closest and smaller. Fastest option is taxi (regulated price) or Uber. Can also take train into Paris.
Getting Around
Walking, buses, tram and train.
Train and Bus stops one block away take you to Notre Dame, Luxembourg Parc, Chatelet and more in 15-20 minutes or enjoy a hardy walk. There is also a tram that circles the city. I will give you detailed information on the how easy it to find and use the bus. Buses are actually one of my favorite ways to see the city. Somehow you’re always passing famous sites no matter what bus you take.
