Neighbourhood
Maadi has a plethora of coffee shops, cafes and restaurants from Korean, through to sushi, vegan and burgers! There is a real cafe culture in Egypt and there are always chairs and tables outside.
Road 9 and Road 233 are the nearest main shopping areas - a 15 min walk or quick taxi ride away. These have an eclectic mix of lamp shops, rug shops, clothes shops and shops selling everything you could ever need!
The neighbourhood is situated on the Nile, and the Corniche is a wonderful place to grab a Felucca for the evening, unwind and watch the sunset. An inexpensive taxi ride away are the main attractions of Cairo - including the Pyramids, the new Museum, Zamalek and Garden City for the beautiful architecture.
Nearest airport
Cairo International Airport is approximately 40 mins away.
Getting around
Welcome to Cairo!
If you value your sanity you will not get behind the wheel!
Uber select will be your best friend for getting around. We also have wonderful tour guide contacts for when you wish to venture to the pyramids or tombs. Should you wish to cycle, as lots do in Maadi, we have 2 adult bikes and a child bike available.
Cairo is the easiest city to get around, there is a taxi on every corner, but you can also organise a driver and car for longer periods who will work directly for you and take you everywhere in the city. Further afield, Luxor, Sharm/Dahab and Hurgharda are all a 1hr flight away.
