General overview

Actively seeking globes!

Hi, we have a home in Carlsbad New Mexico, USA 🌄 🌶️ 🌵🦎that is available for home swaps/ pet sit from now until October 2023, and potentially in 2024 as well. Stays from 1 week to a month or longer considered. It's a nice home with trampoline/ kids toys (one million legos!)/ hot tub/ gym equipment/ BBQ/Greenhouse 🏋️ , near national parks ( Carlsbad Caverns🦇, Guadalupe Mountains 🥾, and White Sands, plus aliens 🛸/mountains/casinos/desert landscapes/river). Can also use kayaks/ stand up paddle boards on the Pecos River 🛶 or borrow camping equipment⛺ to explore the rest of New Mexico as well- most of New Mexico is within a 4 hour drive, so there is a lot to explore and we are happy to recommend places to go check out!

We ask a $200 fee, only for hospitality stays or if you don't swap us/ pay us a globe, that's the cost for us to have the house cleaned for you. 

We do have 4 cats 🐈🐈🐈🐈 who are fairly simple to care for and great with kids. They are ok to be left alone with food/ water if you want to go explore for a weekend etc or my friend can check on them for longer trips. 

The house is a 4 bed 3 bath with a guesthouse. But one bedroom and bathroom ( with separate entrance) and the guesthouse are on Airbnb ( run by my co-host/ do not bother you, but share the patio/ hot tub area).  And one bedroom is our office/ locked up but we could open it up. So we have private 2 bedroom/ 2 bath space for 4 people, or could potentially host 6 or 7 if you're ok sleeping on couches or we work something out/ open the office up. We do have a car potentially could also share as well. 

We are a family of 4, two boys ages 6&8👨‍👩‍👦‍👦, traveling full time for the foreseeable future. We plan to be in Colombia now, Costa Rica/ Nicaragua in March, Argentina in April, and Europe & Morocco from April 27- October 23, so looking for swaps in any of those areas, either simultaneous or non- simultaneous or ACTIVELY SEEKING GLOBES! And also into 2024 ( likely Asia?).  Please feel free to reach out we are also actively seeking friends- our kids are missing interaction with other kids lately.

The space

Main bedroom with ensuite bath and king bed. Hall bedroom with 2 twins and hall bath. Large living room, dining room, gym area, kitchen, bar area. Central AC, High speed wifi.  Nice covered patio with hammock, swing, yard has a trampoline and hot tub, pizza oven, BBQ, and greenhouse if youre into gardening. Not ideal for babies because of the cats/ Legos/ etc, but I'd consider that too if you're ok with it! I do think we could wrangle up a pack n play and a high chair as well. And if you need access to the office I can arrange that and probably find a bed to put in there or there is a couch in there that might be ok to sleep on as well.

Guest access

No stairs. House shares the property/ outdoor spaces with 2 airbnbs, that my assistant/ friend runs (they should not bother you but they do share the patio/hot tub on occasion. We've never had an issue sharing with them.) Hot tub and yard have maintenance guys. One parking spot or street parking.

Notes

We have 4 cats so you would be pet sitting as well. All their food / litter box stuff is on auto ship and they are very sweet easy-going healthy cats. If needed my friend could possibly take the cats.

Neighbourhood

Very nice neighborhood with some million dollar homes. There is a nice riverfront park about a mile away, abd we have stand up paddle boards/ kayaks you could borrow.  Grocery stores etc all nearby, but you will want a car. Lots to do in New Mexico and if you want to go on a weekend away my friend can watch the cats. We are close to Carlsbad Caverns, Guadalupe Mountains National Park, abd White Sands National Park. Farther north there is Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Taos, etc. Camping in the Mountains as well- we do have some camping gear you could use.

Getting to my home

You will need to either drive, or fly into El Paso(2 hours away), Lubbock (2 hours), Roswell (1.25 hours) or Hobbs ( 1 hour) and rent a car from there. We can possibly arrange to use our car but you'll need to get to Carlsbad somehow. There are flights by tiny plane direct into Carlsbad on Boutique air.
