General overview

We live on a scenic lake in a friendly, upscale (gated) community with excellent access to shopping, beaches, theater and performing arts. The beaches near us are famous for cool white “sugar sand” and include the acclaimed Siesta Key Beach. Our home is directly across the lane from a beautiful clubhouse with fitness center and resort pool.

The space

This home is all about the lake views, sunrises and sunsets. All key rooms overlook the lake, and the screened-in lanai is perfect for dinner practically year-round. We have 2 bedrooms, each with a private bath. There is a wet bar with wine chiller, a state-of-the-art kitchen with top line appliances. The furnishings are very comfortable and the style is inviting.

Guest access

The community has a gate at the entry for maxim privacy. Our home is entirely on the ground level with no steps whatsoever. You can enter the living space directly from the large garage. We have a very safe and quiet neighborhood.

Notes

We strive to make sure you love our home, community and the Sarasota area as much as we do! People here are outgoing, happy and helpful. We have excellent restaurants and shopping within walking distance. The weekly Farmers Market is across the street and Starbucks a block away. Lakewood Ranch is all about nature with over 100 miles of bike paths and trails.

Neighbourhood

Our neighborhood of The Moorings is small, but Lakewood Ranch is a "new city" and the fastest selling area in the U.S. We are surrounded by and integrated with the natural environment, so nature is everywhere around us. Residents in our neighborhood are friendly and helpful if you need help! While it is quiet and peaceful here, but there is plenty to do at the clubhouse and much more right outside our gate. Main Street shopping and dining area is a 3 minute walk. This local gathering area has good local restaurants, shops, a movie theater and Miniature Golf.

Getting around

You can walk for local restaurants and activities. However, we usually include a car in our exchanges as local public transportation is not very good. The new regional mall is 5 minutes by car and is surrounded by other shopping plazas with everything you might want or need. The nearest grocery is 10 minutes on foot or 2 minutes in the car. There is a public golf course in Lakewood Ranch (5 minutes) and plenty of additional courses within about 15 minutes by car. There is an excellent discount mall (15 minutes). Beaches on Siesta Key and Lido Key are 20-30 minutes. Orlando (Disney, Universal, etc.) is 1.5 hours. Sarasota has several professional theaters, opera, symphony, ballet and more.
