Neighbourhood

We live in the well known and most famous part of Amsterdam, De Jordaan. It's a in the middle of the old city centre. Our boat is located in the Brouwersgracht canal, voted the most beautifull street of Amsterdam. On saturday there's a "farmer/biological" market and a regular market just 200 metres from our door. The Haarlemmerdijk (around the corner) was voted as best shopping street of the Netherlands: Loads of nice cafe's, restaurants and a huge variety of unique boutique stores. It's a neighbourhood full of art, fashion, design and cultural events. There's also the famous Art Deco cinema "The Movies" all in a 2 minutes walking distance. Although there is a lot to do in our neighborhood, it it also very quiet, we live in a village-like part of the city centre. So best of both worlds. Also the wonderful Westerpark is located on 5 minutes walkingdistance. The Westerpark is famous for nature, culture and good food.

Getting around

From our house it's easy to visit so many things. By foot, by bike or using public transport.

Member description
We are a family of three. Stanley (48) is a film editor & film director, Susanne (50) is a visual artist and Timo, our 16 year old son loves watching movies, drawing & 3D modeling, and role playing games. Our pet is a rabbit who lives in the house. We're experienced home exchangers and love exploring urban culture & art, so city trips welcome!! UPDATE: We're open for any destination, and we'd love to do a Scandinavian city swap. At the moment we're not interested in going to France (countryside nor Cities).
