General overview
We love the location of our home. We are in a coveted neighborhood in the foothills of Boise. We have lots of trails and green space right out our door. We have a large backyard with a trampoline, fire pit, hammock, and soccer goals. We have lots of room in the house including a very large playroom.
We are located very close to beautiful Boise, ID. We're also on the way to tons of Idaho's amazing adventures: skiing, white water rafting, lots of natural hot springs, World Center for Birds of Prey, famous fishing, etc.
The space
We have 4+ bedrooms: one main bedroom with a King size bed and en suite bathroom, 3 bedrooms with queen sized beds, and if requested, a queen sized inflatable bed can be put in the home office. Our home has two indoor gas fireplaces, a very large playroom with swings, balance beam, gym bars, craft area, and reading/art nook. There are 3 bathrooms in the home. Our backyard is large with mature trees, a trampoline, gas fire table, outdoor furniture, gas grill, outdoor table, kids' toys, and access to open space through a back gate. Out our front door is a large green park across the street and trailheads to miles of trails. We love to hike and mountain bike from our house. Our community pool is one block away.
Guest access
We have two stories to the home. Guests will have access to the entire home. We also have bikes, kayaks, paddle boards, wagon (can haul pool toys to the pool), outdoor games, hammocks, etc. to loan out.
Guests will use keypad on front door to access home.
Notes
There is no public transportation here. You'll need to either drive or rent a car.
We have family members with allergies. If you smoke (or vape) or use lots of perfume, our house won't work.
*Due to two flights of stairs with no gates, two fireplaces, and no child locks, our home is not suitable for kids under 2.

Neighbourhood
Our neighborhood is very family friendly and beautiful. It is part of an old farmstead which you can still visit a few blocks away (historic site). There is still a working farm where the community grows organic vegetables and raises chickens and goats; you can visit these too! The oldest barn in Idaho is located on the farm.
We have lots of open space with wetlands a block away (you can hear the Red Winged Blackbirds gathering and singing from our house).
There is a beautiful creek nearby that flows in the spring and early summer. We also have two community pools (one of them a block away), a BMX bike track, soccer fields, an ultimate frisbee course, a restaurant, coffee shop, library, preschool, med spa, mercantile with basic food items and ice cream, and other small businesses.
It's a very walkable and bike-able neighborhood with lots of active families.
If you are heading further to the mountains to ski, white water raft, fish, etc., we are on the way there.
Nearest airport
Boise (BOI) has a regional airport and it's about a 30 minute drive from there to our home.
Getting around
There is a restaurant and basic food store within walking/biking distance. To get more substantial groceries, pharmacy, etc, it's about a 10 minute drive down the hill. To get to Downtown Boise, it's about a 20 minute drive.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Shelly's home in Hidden Springs, Idaho. Their beautiful home is clean, comfortable, and inviting. We so appreciated the basket of local goodies and guides they left for us, and all the other little touches that made our stay there just perfect. The community of Hidden Springs is lovely and very family friendly. We’ll be back!

Marissa was our first exchange and we were a bit nervous about what to expect. But we could not have had a more amazing introduction to PLU than with her and her family. Anyone would be lucky to have them in their home.
We arrived back home to a house that was cleaner than we'd left it and found a sweet basket of items for us and a thoughtful card. They took great care of everything while they were in the home. We would love to have Marissa and her family stay here any time and highly recommend them as guests to any home. Thanks Marissa and family!
