General overview

Nestled in one of the most picturesque valleys in Asheville, NC. Hidden Flower Tiny Farm is the perfect getaway for relaxing. Guests can enjoy all their creature comforts while trying out living off-grid in a yurt. Located on 5 acres in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains you feel a million miles away; all the while only 5 MILES to all that downtown has to offer and 4 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our motto is- Small, Simple, Sweet, Stress-Free & Sustainable. Glamping is so much fun!

The space

This light and airy yurt is mostly off-grid and great for eco-friendly thinking guests, who will treat this home with love and care. Walkout on the deck and enjoy stunning views, great sunsets, stargazing & lots of wildlife. Take the weekend and UNPLUG with a great book! The yurt has a kitchenette with a mini-fridge, toaster oven, french press coffee maker, cooktop, and all your dining essentials. A shower with super hot water and a top of the line natures head composting toilet. A QUEEN size bed overlooking the mountain ridge and our tiny farm. Beautiful picturesque LARGE windows with stunning views. Cork flooring and vaulted yurt ceiling with skylight. Enjoy the WILDLIFE (turkey, bear, deer, salamander, owls, hawks, etc) on the great big deck. Our tiny farm has young fruit trees, gardens, wildflowers, chickens, and a toddler. Super close to great farm to table dining, art, shopping & more.

Guest access

Feel free to enjoy the views and wildlife. There is the barn, a small mountain stream, very friendly neighborhood to walk, the beginnings of a trail, gardens, mini orchard, lots of places to sit and relax.

Notes

IMPORTANT INFO: The yurt is mostly off-grid. This means that it is very important to be conservative with your energy consumption. You are welcome to use all your normal devices but please unplug devices and turn off lights when you are away. Enjoy a nice hot shower but be aware that all water goes directly into our gardens. So, please use the good quality plant-based products provided. The toilet is a composting toilet. It is very important that you use the toilet as instructed. If used properly there will be NO bothersome smells. There is a propane wall heater to be used intermittently to warm the space up when need be. There is also a woodstove. If you are not familiar with woodstoves please ask for a tutorial on how to use. We do not provide wood but you are welcome to stop on your way to the yurt at the grocery and grab a bundle or two. Remember the yurt is a tent so keep volume levels low. Please let us know if you have any questions about anything and we will be happy to help.

Neighbourhood

We are located at the end of a road in a neighborhood. Our home is located in the mountains so please be aware that it is hilly and also a tiny farm. There are neighbors nearby so please keep things down after 10 pm. We are in a cove so noise travels easily and bounces. Please also be aware that there are bears that walk through the property from time to time. Please do not leave any trash or food out that may attract them. Please look over the details in the house manual on all the ends and outs of the house and city. There is a 24-hour grocery 3 miles away. Lots of great locally-owned restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, breweries, and cocktail lounges. Community yoga nearby as well. We are from Asheville so please feel free to ask any questions about the area.

Getting around

We are about a mile from the nearest bus stop. I would recommend having a vehicle but please take note there is only room for ONE vehicle to park here. If you have more than one vehicle coming you will need to park an extra car somewhere else. We recommend the 24-hour grocery store 3 miles away. Uber and Lyft are available as well as many other cab companies.$10 avg. uber/lyft.
