Notes
IMPORTANT INFO: The yurt is mostly off-grid. This means that it is very important to be conservative with your energy consumption. You are welcome to use all your normal devices but please unplug devices and turn off lights when you are away. Enjoy a nice hot shower but be aware that all water goes directly into our gardens. So, please use the good quality plant-based products provided. The toilet is a composting toilet. It is very important that you use the toilet as instructed. If used properly there will be NO bothersome smells.
There is a propane wall heater to be used intermittently to warm the space up when need be. There is also a woodstove. If you are not familiar with woodstoves please ask for a tutorial on how to use. We do not provide wood but you are welcome to stop on your way to the yurt at the grocery and grab a bundle or two.
Remember the yurt is a tent so keep volume levels low.
Please let us know if you have any questions about anything and we will be happy to help.

Neighbourhood
We are located at the end of a road in a neighborhood. Our home is located in the mountains so please be aware that it is hilly and also a tiny farm. There are neighbors nearby so please keep things down after 10 pm. We are in a cove so noise travels easily and bounces. Please also be aware that there are bears that walk through the property from time to time. Please do not leave any trash or food out that may attract them. Please look over the details in the house manual on all the ends and outs of the house and city. There is a 24-hour grocery 3 miles away. Lots of great locally-owned restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, breweries, and cocktail lounges. Community yoga nearby as well.
We are from Asheville so please feel free to ask any questions about the area.
Getting around
We are about a mile from the nearest bus stop. I would recommend having a vehicle but please take note there is only room for ONE vehicle to park here. If you have more than one vehicle coming you will need to park an extra car somewhere else. We recommend the 24-hour grocery store 3 miles away. Uber and Lyft are available as well as many other cab companies.$10 avg. uber/lyft.
