General overview

Our wonderful home is Texas sized at 3300+ square feet! We live in a nearby suburb of Wylie, consistently voted a top city to live in in the United States! Our city has a cute, historic downtown, small town feel with lots of stores and amenities and of course, delicious Texas food, coffee and bakeries! Texas BBQ, Mexican food, Thai and Indian food- we have it all here or nearby! We are also less than a mile from the lake! Rent a boat and spend the day out on the water relaxing or doing fun water sports! See my list below for fun ideas! We are also close to major universities such as Southern Methodist University, The University of Texas at Dallas, Texas Christian University, Texas Women's University, The University of North Texas, Texas A&M-Commerce, and Collin College to name a few

The space

A light and bright modern home with 5 bedrooms + 4 full baths + an office with high speed internet, perfect for those who need to work! We have 2 king beds, 2 queen beds, a sofa that makes a king size bed plus space for another 1-2 people to sleep, a full-size bed plus a baby crib and a VERY large playroom filled with toys! I love our beautiful hot tub, large backyard with a playground with swings.

Dallas has so much fun to offer that people may not realize! Come explore the city, nature, sports, and so much stuff for kids and adults alike! Here's a list of some of our favorite things to do: -Great Wolf Lodge waterpark day passes -Gaylord Texan for a day pass at the waterpark during Summer and for November and December you can enjoy Ice!, snow tubing, and all things magical for Christmas! -The State Fair of Texas during October/November -Texas Ranger Baseball games! Our stadium is INDOOR with a retractable roof with AIR CONDITIONING! It's amazing and fun! -Dallas Cowboy Football games! Also known as America's Team! -Dallas Maverick Basketball games -Dallas Stars Hockey games -FC Dallas Soccer Games -Frisco Roughriders AAA Baseball games where you can watch the game while floating in a lazy river! -We are less than a mile from Lake Lavon with many access points/parks close by surrounding it! Neighbourhood

Our neighborhood is called Bozman Farms- a super friendly place with a wonderful mix of people. It large with lots of trees, a catch and release pond, and nature surrounding you. We love that we live in a culdesac at the end of a trail that leads to one of the 2 beautiful community pools! You'll be given an access card to swim. The pools are open yearly from April-October. Our personal hot tub in the backyard is clean and open year round!

Feedback

  • We had an amazing time at Crystal's huge Dallas home. The photos really don't show how enormous it is! Crystal and her family showed us such kindness and generosity and lent us their massive car as well as their home and gave us the opportunity to watch the total eclipse, which was amazing! We enjoyed the hot tub in the garden and the estate had a fantastic community swimming pool that we could use. It was such a great home to come back to after a day exploring. We were lucky enough to get the chance to meet Crystal and her lovely family before we left and feel like we have made great friends. We look forward to them coming to Oxford one day soon and getting to spend more time with them. Thank you Crystal for sharing your home!

  • Crystal and fam's house is indeed Texas-sized! I was super-comfortable there with lots of space to lounge, including the hot tub. A great kitchen setup, and I really enjoyed going out walking every day around the neighborhood and along the creek that runs through the area--lots of birds (huge owls at night!) and critters. There's a big Walmart for grocery shopping only a five-minute drive away, and the cute town center of Wylie just a few minutes farther. This would be a fun place for a European family to get a slice of Americana life (the ranch where they shot the TV show Dallas is due west of here, and there's country music at the Wylie Opry in the town center). And for me on a weeklong retreat/creative break, it was exactly what I needed! Many thanks to Crystal for answering my "Where's the..." and "How do I..." questions super-quickly!
