Located in Hout Bay, a hidden gem seaside suburb from Cape Town, our lovely apartment has sea views and worderful mountain views, i.e. Chapmans Peak, Karbonkelberg and The Sentinel.
Walking distance to the beach, mall, supermarkts, shops and restaurants makes all very easy going.
Beach (450 m), Mall (350 m) and supermarkts (Woolworth 350 m, Pick & Pay 450 m and Checkers 550m) and lovely shops - all in walking distance.
Distance to:
Chapmans Peak Drive = 1,1 km
Table Mountain = 10 km
Hout Bay Harbour = 2,8 km
Camps Bay = 10 km
Llandudno Beach = 4 km
Constantia = 6 km
Victoria&Alfred Waterfront=16 km

With a rental car - what is quite affordable - you can get to all tourist attractions very easily - from Table mountain, to Roben Island, Chapmans Peak Drive, Constantia Wineries and so many others. Uber works well too. Great food and perfect wine everywhere. My list of suggestions for great restaurants is very long.🤩
Cycling, hiking and water sports - all in Hout Bay and neighborhood.
For the ones on remote work 100 Mbps/100 Mbps available.

The apartment is very well laid out and equipped.
Cape Town offers everything you could dream of: the beach, the city, the countryside, vineyards, and great food. We didn't rent a car and used only Uber. Over ten days, it was ultimately cost-effective and more comfortable.
Elza was a true pleasure to communicate with. Very quick to respond and cares about making sure all goes well. And it did indeed as her place is well located to visit not only Capetown but its surroundings. The view from the balcony on the bay is a big bonus. I strongly recommend anyone to exchange with Elza! Thanks Elza and happy travellings.
We had an amazing time at Elza and Thomas’ place in Capetown! The flat hads everything you need for a perfect vacation, all cooking utensils and a “wow” view!!! It was perfectly clean and ready for us.
Hout Bay is such a nice community and it was very easy to navigate to all attractions in Capetown and around, despite my initial concerns about driving “on the wrong side of the road”, we got used to it quickly. Lots of great supermarkets and restaurants nearby.
Elza and Thomas were perfect hosts and gave us many tips on what to do around. We had met them before in person, and it was so easy to exchange with them.
Thank you!!
Elza's apartment has everything you could need, with beautiful views over the ocean. Close to supermarket and places to eat. Go for a scenic drive around Chapman's Peak to Simons Town to see the penguins, or a equally beautiful 30 minute scenic drive to Cape Town via Camps Bay which has a gorgeous beach. Thank you for exchanging with us!
We had such a lovely time in Elza's apartment! What a great location, with beautiful views of the ocean and mountains. Really breathtaking to wake up to every morning. The apartment itself is very comfortable and complete: it really has everything you need, also for a longer stay. We stay there almost two weeks with two toddlers and it worked out really well. Hout Bay is a lovely area, with lots to do for both kids and grown-ups. Walking distance to the beach, grocery shops and some nice restaurants. We felt very safe walking around at day time. The communication with Elza was also flawless and she helped a lot with good tips etc. Cape Town has been amazing and we cannot wait to return!
Thank you for a wonderful exchange. We loved your apartment, it’s in a great area, and so easy to visit Interesting places nearby.
We really appreciated all your suggestions and information, it was really helpful.
Best of all we were able to meet you and are looking forward to welcoming you to Scotland next year.
Thank you Muriel and Paul for choosing our place and taking good care of it.
We are happy you came all the way from George to meet us in Knysna. It was fun! And of course, we are happy to know you had a good time in Hout Bay.
Looking forward to seeing you again in Scotland next year or before that in Munich.
Thank you Elza for the wonderful 10-day stay in your comfy condo. We hardly wanted to leave! We appreciated the fully equipped kitchen and all the little touches you've added that made us feel at home. The view from the balcony was so peaceful and green, and we were entertained by watching the cars going up and down Chapman's Peak Road in the distance. We drove it multiple times ourselves to visit the beaches and towns on the other side of the peninsula- sooo special! ( Oh, and we saw those "blue chickens" strolling by every evening, just as you said!) Thanks too for all your local tips - we did the seal boat tour and tried many of the restaurants you suggested - all great. We loved walking around the local working harbour - refreshing to feel that we were in a real community rather than simply a tourist town. We walked to the little mall and grocery stores and found the "Collective" harvest table restaurant which we went back to for several delicious lunches. You have a gem of a place! We look forward to seeing you two in Ottawa in July.
Thank you so much Melanie and Graham! For accepting our place, enjoying and taking care of it.
We are very happy to have met you both and are looking forward to seeing you again in beautiful Ottawa summer!
Elza and her husband were great guests. They communicated quickly and left the house as if nobody had visited. They were considerate and are welcome back any time.
Elza was very helpful. Her assistant Florence explained everything to us, and the security service was able to retrieve the keys as we were leaving the apartment very early in the morning.
Elza and Thomas have been wonderful guests and cat sitters! Our little furry friends where super happy with the care and cuddles that they got!
The communication with Elza was easy and very likeable and they left our apartment in a perfect state. We can highly recommend them as your guests!
We very much hope to welcome them again in the future! :-)
Elza and Thomas embody the spirit of home exchange. They are kind, thoughtful and helpful and we would be happy to welcome them back to Scotland anytime.
Elza and Thomas were perfect guests at our home in Rio, everything was left in order and cats received lots of cuddles and love from them. Communication was also great and all went smoothly!
What an amazing exchange!
They are welcome back anytime! And hope to meet them again in person in the future.
We were so happy to have Elza as our cat-sitter for Pierre-le-chat in August. Everything went smoothly, and we came back to an impeccably clean home and happy kitty. Elza was so easy to exchange with before and during her stay. Her nephew left us a lovely drawn photo which we have now included along with our other guest notes in our home guide. We highly recommend Elza as a PLU guest!
Elza and Thomas were great guests. We did a non-simultaneous exchange with them, and it was fun to see them a second time on the other side of the world and to reciprocate the warm hospitality they had extended to us 5 months before in Cape Town. Our time together was brief, but lovely - we even got to meet Elza's sister and bro-in-law who accompanied them for a few days. They took good care of our primary home and were great communicators. We recommend them as excellent guests with a true PLU spirit.
It was a pleasure to have Elza and Thomas as my guests in Montreal. Communications were easy and direct and they took great care of my home. My daughter got to meet them in person and she said they were very very nice. I just can't wait to travel to Africa:).
Thank you so much Anita for hosting us in your beautiful and comfortable house!
We enjoyed our stay in Bunya, being so close to nature and having the great view if the forest from Anita‘s terrace. Grab a cup of coffe and look and listen to the beautiful and different birds in the morning was very relaxing. We loved it.
With the rental car we reached Gold Coast and the Lone Pine Sanctuary. You have no other choice than to fall in love with the Koalas. The kangoroos and wallabees were also so adorable!
We really enjoyed our exchange in Bunya and highly recommend exchanging with Anita!
Fanny and her daugther were great guests. Communication was very easy and they took good care of our place. We highly recommend exchanging with Fanny.
Fanny‘s charming house is located in a calm area but close to the city center. We enjoyed relaxing at the verandah and the pool. With the rental car we visited many parts of New Caledonia which are quite different from each other and the beautiful calm beaches with wonderful impressive turquoise colour. Really like in the pictures! The boat trip to the islands are a must!
Thank you so much dear Judith for the wonderful two-week stay in your place!
Hamburg is a gorgeous city and Judith’s apartment is located in a fantastic neighbourhood with beautiful buildings (including Judith’s of course) and lots of trees. Very quiet and calm. Within a very short walk we found restaurants and many shops . The subway is just around the corner and you can reach all sightseeings within 15 minutes. No car needed. There is a lot to see to see in Hamburg - from boat trips, museums, visiting the Elbphilarmonie till Miniatur Wunderland, very good restaurants and bars with great views. We took the chance and drove to Lübeck and the Baltic Sea (Ostsee). The weather was beautiful with lots of sunshine.
In the morning and in the evening Cassidy 🐈and George🐈⬛ were our indoors sunshine. Lovely and very sweet cats. We miss them!
If Judith wants to exchange with you, take your chance. Communication was easy and the apartment is spacious and perfectly located.
Thank so much again Judith!❤️

Thank you Muriel and Paul for the wonderful two weeks exchange in your beautiful house in Scotland.
Muriel is a great host. The flowers and the basket on the kitchen counter with all the information, tour guides and welcome gifts were amazing! The house is spacious, very comfortable and the kitchen is a dream.
We drove around in day trips and were happy to come back and enjoy the outside area of the house and the relaxing garden. The train provided an easy and - thanks to Muriel’s infos - affordable trip to Edinburg. And the highlight without leaving the house is to see the scotish highland cows just at the neighbours’ land.
We highly recommend exchanging with Muriel and Paul!
Thank you so much Nina and Sam for the great opportunity of a short notice and fantastic stay in your place in Berlin. On Sunday afternoon I saw Nina’s offer for a hospitality for three nights in their apartment. All agreed in the same afternoon through WhatsApp while Nina and Sam were on their way home from Australia. On Monday morning we jumped in the car and reached Berlin in the afternoon for the next days. We found a garage in a hotel quite close and just enjoyed walking.
Nina & Sam’s place is comfortable with lots of light and in an incredible location just at the corner from the Spree River where you have a huge choice of restaurants and bars. It could not have been better. 🤩The weather was also amazing. Walking distance everywhere and I mean really every sightseeing. We took the subway only once to meet an old friend in the Biergarten. Too lazy to walk in the late evening.
If you want to visit Berlin I highly recommend exchanging with Nina & Sam.
Thanks again Nina & Sam and I hope we can meet in Munich on your way to Italy in June.😍
Patric was a great guest! Communication was very easy and it was such a pleasure to finally welcome our first exchange partner in our place. I highly recommend exchanging with him. Enjoy South Africa and all the coming trips dear Patric!
Carolina and her family were perfect guests. Very kind, tidy and organized. They took very good care of our place. We can only recommend an exchange with them.
Thank you for exchanging with us!
We met Carolina at the beach in Rio before our exchange. The communication was very easy.
We loved our exchange with Carolina! Her house is beautiful , spacious, clean and has all you need. The house is located in a traditional area from Rio and is close to supermarkts, hortifruti (very high quality fruits vegetables, bakery etc) and many small shops. And the house is still very quiet.
You can walk two blocks and jump in the subway or Uber will bring you everywhere and is very affordable. Within walking distance you can visit Casa Fijan, Casa Rui Barbosa and Praia de Botafogo with the fantastic views of the Sugar Loaf just like you see in the post cards.
Going out was so easy with so many excellent restaurats in the neighbourhood. All within walking distance.
Carolina’s terrace is a delight. Dinners and lots of conversations with my niece and her friend who had the pleasure to be with us in the exchange. Junior and Simba were the stars of the exchange. - adorable cats.
We had such a great exchange which we hope to can repeat.
Thanks Carolina and we hope to meet you - and your family soon.
Rochelle and her family were great guests and took very good care of our place.
We can wait to be in Perth!
Thank you Rochelle!
We were very happy to welcome Claire and her beautiful family. They were great guests and took good care of our place! The whole exchange was very easy with very good communication. We can’t wait to meet them in The Netherlands in 2026!
Thank you Hannah, Cedric and Pierre (the cat) for the wonderful stay in Paris!
The apartment is only a few subway stations from all sightseeing.s. We were lucky to enjoy Paris during the Olympic Games and for my niece the dream of visiting Paris came through. My grand nephew was delighted to see the Eifell Tower. Disneyland was the special treat. We took our time in the morning and enjoyed staying with Pierre and coming back home was also a great joy. Thank you again!
Thank you so much Melanie and Graham for the 14 days exchange in your house, for your kindness and generosity and also for giving my sister and brother in law the opportunity of staying together with us in your house in part of their vacation in Canada.
Communication was so easy. Melanie prepared lots of information about what to do in Ottawa and we were lucky to arrive on the day before Canada Day and could experince the celebrations.
We enjoyed every day in your beautiful, spacious, clean and very comfortable house that has averything one can need.
The location is fantastic! All the traditional houses with many trees and flowers. So calm and urban at the same time with all the shops and restaurants close by.
The backyard is a very special part of the house where we had the first coffee and watched the squirrels jump around and spent wonderful evenings after making a barbecue chatting, enjoying a glass of wine and watching the fireflies.
Ottawa is a very beautiful city where tradition and modern goes together and nature is present everywhere. We enjoyed our stay, Canada Day celebrations, the historic sightseeings, Rideau Canal, the museums, a music concert, Gatineau Park, the visit to the winery also close to the city and so much more.
We are very happy we met Melanie and Graham and I know our paths will cross often. Maybe next time in Brazil or Germany.
Thanks again for the wonderful time!
If you have a chance to exchange with Melanie and Graham do not hesitate.
We had a wonderful stay in Patric’s apartment in Montreal! The apartment is modern, comfortable, spacious, airy and full with natural light. Communication was very easy. Sarah - Patric’s daughter - was so kind and let us in and showed us the apartment at 11 pm (our flight had a huge delay). Thanks again Sarah 😍
Patric and Sarah, we (my husband, my sister, my brother-in-law and me) thank you so much for the generosity and kindness and can’t wait to welcome you in Cape Town in 2025!
We thank you Muriel and Paul for being such great guests and for giving us the opportunity of travelling to wonderful Scotland in 2025.
We really appreciated that you came all the way from George to Knysna to meet us. It was a wonderful lunch time with so much fun!
We are looking forward to seeing you in Scotland next year or any time earlier in Munich!
We were so happy to have Melanie and Graham as our very first Exchange Guests! Communication was easy and we felt very comfortable with them. Melanie and Graham are so friendly, kind, open minded and also very tidy.
Thank you for taking good care of our place!
We are looking forward to seeing you again in summer 2024 in Ottawa!
