Newly built, our little home is our haven. Set on 2 acres of fruit trees, grassland and forest, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of town (15 minutes drive away) it is the perfect place to rejuvenate, whilst still having access to the nearby beach, restaurants and wonderful forest walks.
The space
The house consists of open plan living room with fully equipped kitchen, one private bedroom plus 2 open lofts. Plenty of mattresses for loft sleeping, also a pull out single sofa bed in the living room. Bathroom with tub and shower and picture window to enjoy the view. A cozy 'Sparky' wood fireplace for the colder months. Outdoor seating area/deck on both sides of the house, to enjoy the amazing views. One is covered. The garden is quite wild. There is a mowed lawn leading from the deck, but other than that and the vegetable garden we let nature do her thing. Part of the property has a covenanted wetland and native bush area where it is so peaceful to wander through or just sit and contemplate!
We will respect your property to the utmost, as I am sure you would do for ours.
Notes
Property has a pond, something to be aware of with small children. We have a green house and vegetable garden which might require occasional watering. An outbuilding is near the house with a workshop (no access) and an art studio. No animals to look after. We are open to car exchange if this makes things easier

We stayed at Jocelyn and Andrew's home to complete a non-sim exchange. We absolutely loved it! It is very much the sort of home that we would like to have when we retire and down size, so we took away lots of ideas. The house was beautifully clean, warm and comfortable and had lovely views. The welcome gift of local avocadoes was also much appreciate.
Jocelyn, Andrew and Tracey were great guests. Really good communication and left the house spotless. Recommended!
Pleasant and punctual discrete family
I found the house very clean and a nice bouquet of flowers as a gift
I advise to receive Jocelyn and her family without reservations
It was wonderful to get to know Jocelyn and her family. I was traveling with the kids but Maik was very happy to get to know them all. The communication before and after was very friendly , clear and open. while at our house I got the feeling that Maik wanted to move right beck in. He enjoyed his time together with all of you very much. It will be wonderful to come to NZ. Which won’t be this or next year but then…… so we hope you won’t forget us . We are already excited - just that this excitement has to last for a bit longer! Please come back ! You are very welcome again! All the very best from all of us! Kathrin, Maik and kids
Jocelyn, Andrew and their family stayed in our house while we were on another exchange this summer. They were newbies but understood the need for good communication both before and during the exchange. They were the perfect guests, treated our house well and left it clean and tidy. So we highly recommend them as exchange partners and look forward to being able to go and stay with them in New Zealand sometime in the future.
Jocelyn and her husband were reliable and cleaned up the place, even watering the plants before they left. It seems they enjoyed their stay in Berlin.
It was a pleasure to welcome Pauline and Matt to our home. They were superb guests, leaving our place spik and span. Wonderful couple, easy and uncomplicated to deal with. Would recommend them and welcome them back any time!
What a wonderful stay we had at Pauline and Matt's place. We were welcomed and shown around on arrival and made to feel very comfortable. The house was perfect, right on the waters edge and a lovely view of boats bobbing on the tide. And no problems negotiating the low tide for driving in and out! Raglan is a delightful, wholesome surfie town - we absolutely loved the vibe. Pauline and Matt's communication was impeccable and they're a really friendly couple! We highly recommend a stay at their place 😊
What a lovely stay we had at Danièle's home. She was there to welcome us and show us around her beautiful house, which was spotlessly clean and easily accommodated all seven of us! The house lacked nothing and was relaxing and comfortable, with a stunning view over the harbour.
Danièle's communication was excellent and she provided many tips for visiting the area. The quaint seaside village of Erquy was a short walk down the hill, with many other walks accessable from there. We did hire a car as this made it easier to visit places further afield eg. Mont Saint-Michel!
We enjoyed the peace and quiet of French village life, as opposed to being closer to a city.
Danièle is a generous and friendly lady and I would have no hesitation in recommending her place as an exchange.
Thank you Danièle!!
We had a wonderful stay at Kathrin and Maik's home. They kindly accommodated all 7 of us in their cozy home. The house had everything we needed and our 4 year old was in heaven with the toys left out for her. We were lucky enough to meet Maik in person and not only did he make us feel welcome in his home, he even invited us out one day and we were able to enjoy a great time with him. It was our first time to Norway and we loved it! The house is very accessible to the city with public transport and beautiful walks nearby too. Maik and Kathryn are such friendly and generous people. We are so grateful to have met them and look forward to seeing them in New Zealand soon!
What a treat it was to stay in Annemette and Ole's house. The house was pristine and spacious, with ample room to accommodate our family of 7. We especially loved the kitchen that was so well equipped and the sunny living room. The house lacked nothing. They even provided some toys for our 4 year old - she thought she was in heaven! We were so appreciative of the welcome gift and personal message and immediately felt at home.
Silkeborg is a great central point to explore the whole of Denmark. It is green and leafy with stunning lakes nearby the house. We hired a car which enabled us to freely explore areas further afield, though we have realized we'll need to come back one day to see the bits we missed! Annemette and Ole are a super friendly and generous couple and communication before and during our stay was perfect. As we were first time exchangers they offered lots of tips and we learnt so much by staying in their house, things that we will try to do as well. Though we didn't get to meet them in person we hope to do so when they come to stay here in New Zealand!
A lovely stay in a lovely area of Berlin. The apartment was cosy with everything we needed and stepping out onto the balcony felt like we were in a treehouse amongst the tall leafy trees. Easy access to transport and local cafes with delicious cakes! Our highlights for this visit was Charlottenburg palace and a bit further out a canoe ride through Spreewald - a tranquil break from the vibrant city life.

We are relatively new to this platform but very keen to meet other like minded people. We live on a 2 acre property, tending it with sustainable permaculture principles in Mangawhai, about an hour north of Auckland, New Zealand. Andrew is soon to retire from the IT profession and Jocelyn works in the local community school. We love to travel, either within New Zealand and Australia or to visit our daughter in Europe.
