Neighbourhood

We are very lucky to be located amongst fields in a quiet village between some charming towns and you can walk to the local pebble beach at Seasalter. There’s Faversham which is a traditional market town and home to oldest brewery in England. It is around 10 minutes by car but walkable in around 40 minutes on a country footpath into the quay if you fancy a leisurely stroll into town to check out the many pubs. Then there’s Whitstable, famous for its oysters, which is a bustling little seaside town with beautiful shops and a harbour as well as long pebble beach. Around 18 minutes by car is Canterbury where you’ll find the cathedral and lots of history, shops, theatre and museums. You can reach many other lovely seaside towns such as Herne Bay, Broadstairs, Folkestone and Margate etc with a short drive where you can find sandy beaches too. Central London is easy to reach in just over and hour either into St Pancras or Victoria from Faversham station. I would describe our area as a foodie paradise (which is one of the reasons we moved here). There are countless incredible local restaurants focused on the freshest locally grown ingredients and we can happily make recommendations. Whilst there are a number of large supermarkets nearby for convenience, we love shopping at Macknade food hall which is down the road and full of amazing produce as well as a cafe. The Sportsman is also at the end of our road which has a long running history of michelin stars (although we think the Fordwich arms is a better kept secret).

Getting around

Car is best but you can walk to the beach at Seasalter or into Faversham. We are on a famous cycle path called the Saxon Shore Way which can also help you get around and see the local sights.

A friendly family of Mum and Dad and two well behaved primary school aged boys. We love to explore new places and prefer feeling “at home” than in a large resort. I have worked for a home rental company in the past so I appreciate the trust and care involved in sharing your home.
