General overview
Gated, 3 bed / 3.5 bath private home in an upscale, leafy neighborhood with easy access to San Francisco, beaches and wineries. 10 min drive to the freeway and Larkspur Ferry terminal means you can head south to the city in 25 minutes or head north up to wine country in 20 minutes. Relax or enjoy a meal on one of our two beautiful patios. The views are something else!
The space
Situated on 1/3 acre lot, our home is a traditional grey shingle, two story house set in a lush garden scattered with mature cypress, oak, fruit trees and roses.
Our outdoor space is set up for kids with a flat lawn with a springless trampoline, a mini basketball court and tree house for hours of fun in the garden.
Entering through the front door on the first floor, you're greeted by our wooden staircase. To the left is an oversized main bedroom with a California king size bed, wall of windows facing South with all-day sun and beautiful views of the garden and Mt Tamalpais. The main bedroom has an en-suite bath with shower and large jet tub and large walk-in closet. To the right of the entryway, are the kids’ cozy rooms which share a full bathroom. One kids bedroom has a twin bed, the other is a twin with a trundle.
Head upstairs to the kitchen / living area with 20 ft. vaulted ceilings and numerous skylights which ensure lots of natural light. The kitchen is an entertainer’s dream with large marble island, double ovens and Wolf range. The open plan flows through to a dining room nook which seats 6 people and on to the large living room surrounded by 3 sets of French doors with views and access to the front and back patios. The space has a large travertine fireplace for cozy nights in and seats up to 8 people.
We also have a separate playroom and half bath on this floor.
Our front of house patio overlooks the garden and Ross Valley with stunning views of Mt. Tam and is our favorite place to enjoy the warm evenings of summer with the sound of crickets chirping as the sun sets.
Out the back of the house is another patio with an 8-seater teak table and chair set under a crab apple tree and alongside a beautiful stone gas fireplace. We also have a gas bbq and smoker with an outdoor kitchenette. The patio looks onto the back garden, fountain and vegetable garden and is the perfect place to enjoy a meal outside in the shade.
Guest access
Our home is situated on an incline so there are 3 short flights of stairs up to the front door. Two internal flights of stairs to access the second story and an additional 4 flights of stairs through the back garden to access our back gate which will remain locked during your stay.
Notes
There is also a small guesthouse and garage at the back of the property which we are not including in this exchange.
Guests can park at least 2 cars on the driveway (uncovered) and there is plenty of off-street parking.

Neighbourhood
This is a beautiful, established neighborhood of young families and retirees. What it lacks in lively nightlife it makes up for in natural beauty and tranquility, making it a wonderful and safe neighborhood to walk around in. You can bike to the downtown area of Larkspur (15 - 20 mins) which is a quaint main street with upscale restaurants, boutiques and coffee shops. There are also numerous bike and walking paths along the creek just 10 mins from the house in Greenbrae or head out for a hike at the beautiful Phoenix lake in Ross town just 10 mins away. Fairfax and San Anselmo both have lively restaurant and bar scenes about 15 mins away. 15 mins on the freeway takes you to the famous Tiburon and Sausalito towns with spectacular views of San Francisco across the Bay. The Discovery Museum in Sausalito is an amazing children’s museum and conveniently located alongside the Golden Gate Bridge and next to one of our favorite hotel $ spas, Cavallo Point. West Marin is not to be missed - drive out to Point Reyes for dramatic coastal views and stop for lunch and oysters on the Main Street. Bolinas and Stinson are our most famous beach towns just 45 mins from the house.
Getting to my home
Arriving at SFO or OAK airport, take an Uber directly to our door which should take around 45 mins to 1.25 hours depending on traffic. There are few public transport options in Marin Country unfortunately.
Nearest airport
OAK airport is 30 miles away and generally a shorter trip than SFO. SFO however is a much nicer airport to travel through and is also 30 miles away but you can get caught in San Francisco traffic.
Getting around
You will need a car while you are visiting as there are not many public transport options in Marin County. Once you have a car however, you can drive into San Francisco city within 25 minutes or take the Larkspur Ferry which leaves from the terminal just 10 minutes from our house. You can also head north to wine country (Sonoma and Napa). There is a small beach great for little kids just 15 minutes from our house or much bigger beaches with surfing etc. about 45 mins away.
