Neighbourhood
The house is 50 metres from a small supermarket and 500 metres from shops, bars, restaurants and cafes including the superb market (Les Halles de Merville). Across the road is a Juniour school and the neighborhood is largely residential.
There are many sandy beaches within cycling distance with varying degrees of safety for young children. The area is also good for surfing etc. Ferries within walking distance to cross the estuary to Port Louis, Gavres and Groix Island. Getting to my home
There is a train station where high-speed trains stop for journeys to and from Paris (3 hours) or Nantes or Rennes. The house is 10 minutes from the N165. Airports with connections to European destinations are Brest, Rennes and Nantes.
Nearest airport
Rennes is the closest, but Nantes is much larger with many more flights. Nantes is 2 hours away by train or car.
Getting Around
On foot, by far the best, there is an extensive network of buses and ferries.

I travel with my partner Neil.
We like to discover other cultures, architecture, gastronomy and meet beautiful people.
We practice cycling, walking, gym, swimming and salsa.
I have lived in Lorient since I was a child, I am very attached to it, especially because the sea is close and it is good to live there. I am retired, my profession was a special education teacher.
Neil and I each have our own house, mine is in Lorient, 5 minutes walk from the marina, shops and a quarter of an hour by car from the beaches. Neil will soon be moving near Lorient. There are many sites and events to discover in Brittany, wild coasts, archaeological sites, picturesque towns and villages and many folk festivals and festivals in summer

People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
