General overview

Welcome to our beautiful home! We live on the edge of the quaint, smallish town of Jönköping by lake Vättern (Swedens second largest lake with a town population 80 000 people) surrounded by forrest and fields. We are also within easy reach of the nordic capitals Stockholm, Copenhagen and Oslo.

We live in a quiet residential area in a large two-storey detached four bedroom/two livingroom house with a big south facing garden, play area and several seating spaces outside.

Our house is built in 2008 with all modern amenieties. We who live here; the Hafström family are Angela- an entrepreur, Micael - a civil engineer, Christoffer (13), Elisabeth (11), Magdalena (9) and Alexandra (3).

We have three bedrooms upstairsand an extra bed in our upstairs living room, sleeps up to 7 people. We also have a double sofa bed downstairs as well as a single bedroom so in total 10 people can sleep comfortably. We have eating areas both inside and outside. Our house is extremly well equipped for families with children.

Our house is bordering some of Smålands most beautiful landscape of both arable land and forrests.

During the summer, we have horses in the paddock opposit our garden, and whitin a few minutes walk we have stables with horses and cows all year around.
Still it is only a few minutes drive to Jönköping town with museums, shopping and restaurants by lake Munksjön and lake Vättern.

Småland is also called ”the land of many lakes and forrests. Fishing, hiking, bicycling and skiing is highly enjoyable in our area, depending on season. You can swim and spend time on the beach in several places around lake Vättern or in one of the many small forrest lakes. There is also a big beach in central Jönköping.

Dumme Mosse, 5 kilometers from our house, is classified as a nature reserve, and it is one of the countrys largest, most varied swamp areas, with many different types of wetland, birds and trees. Perfect for family outings.

Our area is, pending on season, ideal for mushroom, lingonberry and blueberry picking and close by is a strawberry farm where you pick your strawberries, and eat and keep as much as you want.

In our garden you can also pick strawberrys, black currents, rhubarb, cherrys and apples in season. You can make elderflower lemonade from our bushes if you come in june.

There is also the local saturday market and several places in the countryside where you can buy local produce such as tomatoes, potatoes, apples, meat etc.

The province Småland is Pippi Longstocking/Astrid Lindgren land, and the famous ”Astrid Lindgren Värld” is 1.5 hours away.

For the once who likes visiting capitals, we are situated exactly inbetween Copenhagen and Stockholm (3 hours) and also within easy reach of Oslo (4-5 hours). Helsinki is reached by ferry from Stockholm.

Further we are only 1.5 hours from Swedens second largest city, Gothenburg, on the west coast with great shopping and trendy restaurants.

Jönköping city itself boasts several restaurants, many in nice settings by the lakes. We also have shopping, a concert & teather hall, museums and sport recreational areas.
