Conde Nash Travel has consistently rated San Miguel the best small city in the world. And this house is in one of the best neighborhoods. It’s a short, mostly level walk to the center of town, and close to all amenities. Because of its history and beauty, it’s a UNESCO a World Heritage site. (The cobblestone streets are charming, but not recommended for people with mobility limitations. But taxis are cheap and plentiful).
San Miguel is culturally vibrant, known for the architecture , visual and performing arts, and fascinating history. It is considered the “heart of Mexico” as the cradle of the country’s independence movement from the Spanish. There are wonderful hot springs, a beautiful nature reserve, a delightful toy museum and excellent restaurants and shops.
The cleaner will come once a week without charge to you. But she would appreciate a tip. The gardener maintains the plants and fountains, so you can enjoy your vacation.
The space
The house has two bedrooms, a king and a queen. Two and 1/2 baths, a well equipped kitchen and a rooftop terrace. It has a spacious kitchen, living room and dining room, and a small breakfast room.
The house is located in the Guadiana (best) neighborhood which is safe, well-lit and quiet, yet easily accessible to everything, including the central plaza, the farmers market and two lovely parks.
Guest access
The bedrooms are on the second floor and the roof terrace has a grill and small refrigerator and a small sink, so it’s a great spot for cocktails at sunset, sunbathing or just relaxing, There is high speed internet, cable TV and Air Conditioning in the main rooms.
Notes
San Miguel has a gentle year-round climate, so it attracts a lot of Canadian “snowbirds” in winter and people escaping from hot humid climates in the summer. Outdoor living and dining is way of life.
