General Overview
See the other side of Phuket, live like a local!
Our home is a 3 bedroom 3 bath condo (135 sqm) located on the southeastern side of the island of Phuket.
We have a large terrace (49 sqm) where you can enjoy the sunrise and the sea view every morning, and it is shaded in the afternoon so you can sit outside and just relax or read.
5 min to Ao Yon Beach, Phuket's only year round swimmable beach
5 min to Phuket Aquarium
15 min to Phuket Town
30 min to Kata and Karon Beach
40 min to Patong
The Space
The main area is an open floor plan which has the kitchen, dining area, and living room area. The living room opens out onto the terrace. There is a guest bathroom by the entrance, which has a shower.
There are 3 total bedrooms, but 2 are ensuite and have their own bathrooms.
The master bedroom has a King bed (6ft/182cm), and double sinks in the bathroom. There is a secondary master bedroom which also has a King bed. Both these bedrooms have their own direct access to the terrace. Finally, there is a smaller third bedroom with a Queen(5ft/152cm)bed.
There is a shared lap pool downstairs, and another smaller pool (with kiddie pool) upstairs. There is a small shared gym as well, all available for resident use.
Guest Access
We are located on the top floor of the main building (Floor 5). There is a 10 cm step to enter the building from the Floor 1 parking area, and an elevator that will take you upstairs. There is one small step into the condo from the hall. The upstairs pool is on the Floor 6. The lap pool is located below Floor 1, at the front of the complex.
The complex is gated with 24 hour security.
Notes
Our home is in a quiet residential area of Phuket, and mostly Thais live in the Panwa area - there is a very limited amount of tourists. Panwa has a lot of local charm, but is also very convenient to Phuket Town and other touristy hot spots.
We have drinking water delivered weekly, and a housekeeper that comes once a week to clean.
Our condo is definitely not luxurious and is a typical condo, but we love it and hope you will enjoy your time here in phuket and feel at home😊
Possible use of car
And for diving enthusiasts, we have a wonderful neighbor that can get your diving trip organized!

Neighbourhood
The local supermarket (Supercheap)/ 7-11 /vegetable seller/drink shop/laundry/thai restaurants/fried chicken cart/one bar are all downstairs with a 1-10 min walk.
Our neighborhood is predominantly Muslim, so you can hear the beautiful calls to prayer everyday.
For more shopping or dining options, transportation is recommended.
Getting to my home
From Phuket Airport, I would recommend a van or hired car. Just FYI taxies AT THE AIRPORT will be expensive. Locals will generally walk out the airport to the main road and get a ride share driver or hired driver to meet there. It will probably take about 1 hr to get to Panwa and roughly 1000 baht. We are on the opposite side of the island from the airport. We have a couple of drivers we use and can give you their contact info before you arrive. One has a van in case you have a large party and/or lots of luggage.
Nearest airport
HKT - Phuket International Airport
Getting Around
Ride share apps, rental car or scooter. Or even try Songthaeows! Barring short walks, I don't recommend extended walking due to the heat, and sidewalks do not exist on most if the island.
For most of Phuket, there is NO real public transportation available. We rely on the ride share apps Indrive (Bolt and Grab are pricier) here to get around. If you rent a scooter or car, you will be able to get around a whole lot easier. There is an on site parking lot but it is first come first serve. Car parking on the island in general may prove challenging depending on where you go.
PLEASE NOTE : Phuket police are cracking down on unlicensed scooter drivers (you must have a motorcycle license from your home country) in various police checkpoints on the island. You WILL BE FINED if caught.
For now, we have not seen them in the Panwa area.
Phuket drivers are a bit crazy, so unless you are familiar driving in Asian countries or driving on the left side, please be very careful. Limited use of our car may be possible.

We're retired and bored! So we don't mind meeting up and taking you around a bit!
Sara and Brian’s apartment is absolutely lovely: spacious, bright, spotless, and super comfortable. While we didn’t spend a huge amount of time inside (we were out exploring most days!), it was always a great place to come back to.
We stayed in the bedroom next to the covered terrace, and the bed there is incredible – we slept like logs every night!
Since it's the rainy season, we got to enjoy a few tropical downpours. One of our favourite moments was sliding open the doors and watching the rain lash down while looking out toward the sea. It didn’t last long, but it was quite a sight; really atmospheric.
The apartment is also in a great spot, with a supermarket, ATM, bars, and restaurants all close by.
The pool is fantastic, especially if you like to swim laps – it’s impressively long and often empty this time of year.
All in all, we’d absolutely recommend a home exchange with Sara and Brian if you’re looking for a memorable stay in Phuket!
This was the second time coming to Sara and Brian's lovely apartment. This time we finally got to meet face to face for a short while before they jetted off again, this time to Japan then Helsinki.
I decided to holiday on my own this time, but it was no problem. The 10 days went by very quickly, too quickly in fact, especially having got to know their lovely neighbours from last time Chris and Jen who took us out scuba diving and to night markets and other local events. Even having the opportunity to play some jazz at the Bebop bar in Phuket town:-)
It was very easy at Brian and Sara's, like coming home. Be sure to check out the Pullman down the road for a monthly pass, it even includes Yoga classes which I did nearly every morning while i was there.
Thank you, Sara & Brain, for allowing us to stay at your beautiful condo in Phuket — it truly felt like a home away from home. The condo was spacious, beautifully decorated, and located in a peaceful area with a breathtaking view of the Andaman Sea right from the balcony. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged, making our two-week stay both relaxing and incredibly comfortable.
Sara went above and beyond in providing us with local tips and personalized recommendations for things to see and do. Thanks to her guidance, we explored everything from the vibrant night markets and serene temples to food hopping at various restaurants and the Chillva & Naka night markets. We also enjoyed plenty of downtime at the condo. Our first message session was at KED3 in Chalong at the very affordable 200Tbt/hour. We did 3 additional hours of massage at the massage parlors near the Bel Air Condo also for a steal at 300Tbt/hour.
Throughout our stay, Sara was always available and in touch, checking in to make sure everything was perfect — and it was. We appreciate the hospitality and hope to visit Sara's Sapporo apartment when it is ready!
We had the pleasure of staying at Sara and Brian's beautiful apartment and I cannot express enough how grateful we are for their incredible generosity.
From the moment we started planning our trip, Sara and Brian were there every step of the way, offering valuable insights, helpful videos and expert recommendations. Their knowledge of the local area made crafting our daily activities so easy. Sara was always available to answer any questions on Whatsapp, on individual and group chats (we were part of 5 back to back exchanges).
The apartment is light, clean andcomfortable and was spacious enough for 6 of us.
We truly had an amazing time exploring what Phuket offers, local street food vendors, massages, even a haircut by a local Panwa barber!, walk to Ton Ao Yon waterfall (couldn't finish the track due to high level of water), Andamanda waterpark, Naka night market, a ferry trip to Phi Phi Islands, longboat trip to Coral Island, Wat Chalong temple, a Sunday brunch at the Vijitt Resort to celebrate a birthday in the family, and relaxing at the Pullman Hotel to name a few.
We can't recommend Sara and Brian enough as exchange partners and hope to meet them soon. Thank you once again!
Thank you Sara and Brian for sharing your beautiful piece of paradise with us. The spacious and beautiful condo was located in a quiet area of Phuket with a stunning view of the ocean from the balcony. We had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and relaxing.
Sara and Brian provided great recommendations for sight seeing, restaurants and relaxation. We packed so much into our 10 day stay including a boat trip to Phi Phi island, elephant sanctuary, night markets, temple visits, a must do food tour in Phuket and lots of time spent at the nearby Pullman resort.
Sara and Brian were in constant communication to ensure we had everything we needed during our stay. We hope one day to meet in person when you visit us in Canada.
We were beyond happy with our stay in Panwa. Communication with Sara and Brian was smooth and friendly, and they were always quick to help with any questions we had. They shared lots of great local tips that really enriched our experience. The apartment was in a beautiful location, and having access to their car made everything so convenient. Today, we consider them dear friends and we truly look forward to welcoming them to Sweden this summer.
We loved Sara and Brian‘s apartment, it’s very well equipped, clean and comfortable. They were very easy to communicate with and helpful in terms of letting us use their car and giving lots of recommendations of places to go and eat. There’s lots to do nearby, we loved it thank you.
We had the best time staying in Sara and Brian's home. Their home is conveniently located and lots to do in the area. Or if you just want to stay home and enjoy the complex pool... that is perfect too. Communication with Sara and Brian was seamless. They went above and beyond with the recommendations and home manual/videos. They let us use their car which was a lifesaver with two small children. However, it is easy to use Grab and Indrive (make sure to bring your travel car seats for the little ones bc they aren't a service option) for any destinations further away which we did because we did not want to drive in busy Thai traffic :) We felt comfortable and relaxed in our "new home" (which my 4 year old still refers to and asks when we are going back). It is spacious, spotless, and has this huge balcony overlooking the ocean and port. This was our third destination in a month long trip in Thailand and by far our favorite. I still miss the drink kiosk I visited every morning for breakfast, thai desserts, pre-made foods and snacks.
We had such a wonderful time at Sara and Brian’s home in Thailand. Their home was welcoming and comfortable with everything you would need and more. I enjoyed the beautiful view every morning and walking down to the food stalls a few mins walk away. The pools were clean and refreshing and quiet throughout the day.
We would gladly go back to this beautiful part of Thailand.
Thank you for having us xx
We had the best time in Sara and Brian's home in Phuket! It truly was a dream vacation for us. Their home is just perfect with everything you might need on your stay. I asked a million questions and Sara always answered without a delay and she gave us tons of ideas to do and see in their area. If you get a chance to stay at their home, you should jump on it! Thank you so much Sara & Brian! <3
Sara and Brian are like rock star level of home swappers. We felt very unprepared in comparison! :)
Phuket is obviously a dream destination and we felt very lucky to have two weeks in summer holidays to spend there.
Panwa is the quieter side of the island. Perfect if you want to experience a more authentic and chilled end of Phuket. No where in Phuket is really far, and Sara and Brian left us a Totoya Yaris to use, ideal size for scooting around the island.
Two minutes drive brought us to Cape Panwa where we spent a lot of time. Lots of restaurants, shops, massage parlours etc. We got a monthly pass for the Pullman which is 2 mins from Sara and Brian’s for a great price, so had our own space in their apartment and could do day trips to a 5 star hotel wherever we wanted!
There’s a 7/11 in walking distance and their home is really comfortable and clean.
Mostly they are such lovely hosts, their welcome book is intimidatingly informative :)
I would definitely recommend exchanging. Thanks again guys!!
We loved our stay at Sara and Brian’s home and did everything they recommended including trying Sara’s favourite ice cream in old Phuket town and favourite type of popcorn at the cinema
We had great communication by WhatsApp throughout
We didn’t hire a car but instead used a combination of indrive/grab/bolt to get around which took the stress out of driving and finding places to park and was significantly cheaper than hiring a car and paying for parking and petrol
We ate breakfast at “home”
And often bought lunch from the roadside stalls next to “home” the fried chicken is delicious and we also loved pandam dumplings and mango sticky rice for desert
Then explored Phuket from night markets to water parks to beaches and island adventures
We had an incredible week at Sara and Brian's condo in Phuket! We finalized the exchange in January for a July arrival. During the six months before our exchange, Sara and Brian communicated about things to do and see in the area. This helps tremendously with planning. Additionally, they were available for questions we had as we continued to make travel plans. Upon arrival, they left a wonderful welcome basket of local snacks and teas. They checked in occasionally to make sure things were going well. We can't say enough about the level of communication. We truly felt like we got to know them without meeting them. We hope we will have a chance to say "thank you" in person during their visit to the US in the fall. In the meantime, "thank you" Sara and Brian for a week of memory-making for our family!
Our time in Panwa, Phuket was wonderful, and a big reason for this was all the help we received from Sara and Brian, their level of attention and wonderful condo!
We enjoyed our stay a lot, and would like to recommend to anyone who is interested in the area! Their are genuine people and very keen on sharing their knowledge of the area and help you in any way they can.
Thank you for everything Sara, Brian and Elaine!
Sara and Brian were so welcoming and helpful during our 2 night hospitality visit. Their home is clean and comfortable with a spacious terrace and the pool is incredible. They were wonderful hosts and we really enjoyed visiting the night market with them and being introduced to Thai bbq - an experience we wouldn't have discovered without local knowledge. We hope to be able to return their hospitality next year when they're in the UK.
We really enjoyed our time at Sara´s house. We really appreciated accepting us as a hospitality exchange (our first one on here). We loved getting to know Elaine, Sara and Brian in person and having insighther perspective from the island!
We have spent a lot of time together (discovering the island, sharing food) - that was really special for us!
The apartment is quiet, spacious and the world best lap-pool is in the house!
We just completed a 2 day Non Sim exchange with Sara and Brian in Phuket , Thailand.
Sara and Brian's home is lovely, meticulously kept and very comfortable. They more than went out of their way to make us comfortable. And showed us around too.
Sara and Brian were wonderful hosts. Always in contact with us and ensuring we had everything we needed. Their home was delightful, with a view over the sea, plenty of room and two outdoor pools for swimming in a quiet non touristic part of Phuket.
There was a booklet with detailed and clear information about how to use the house and places to visit which really helped. They also had the opportunity to get aquatinted with their neighbours. We even went diving with them. Thanks to them they also made our stay much more enjoyable.
Sara and Brian are so lovely, generous and hospitable. Their house is big, spacious, clean, well-kept and very pleasant as a vacation stay over! They provided warmth and care with their house manual and giving alot of travel recommendations to help us enjoy our stay in Phuket. They provided us with water, snacks and alot of other household supplies too which we appreciated alot.
Thank you so much once again!
It was lovely having Sara and Brian stay at our home. Although we didn’t get to meet them Sara and were in touch most days mostly Sara telling me what they had been up to each day…..they had a great time.
Sara kindly sent through photos of our home just before they left.
Would love to have them visit us again.
Sara and Brian were absolutely lovely guests. Communication with Sara was super easy and they left our home in a perfect condition! We would love to visit them back one day :) I absolutely recommend exchanging with them!
Where to start? It’s been such a joy to host Sara & Brian and welcome them to our beloved home here in Sweden. After this exchange we see them as dear and great friends of us and it’s been so fun to show them our surroundings as a day trip to our summer house for a traditional Swedish lunch and a BBQ at the evening. Sara & Brian are super nice guests to have, kept the house clean, helped us water our plants and they seemed to enjoyed our town and what it offers. We really look forward to see you again and next year we will return to their magical home in Phuket, Thailand. Can’t wait for that 😍
Sara and Brian were absolutely wonderful swap guests - thoughtful, respectful, and a total pleasure to exchange with. They took great care of our cottage and left everything spotless, which we really appreciated. Communication was easy and friendly throughout, and they were completely self-sufficient, making everything smooth and stress-free on our end.
It was also lovely to hear about their time exploring the area - they really seemed to make the most of it, which is always so nice as a host. We’re now very much looking forward to staying at their place in July and feel lucky to have connected with such a kind and considerate couple. Highly recommended as house swap partners!
Dear Sara, Thank you so much for the lovely gifts and for taking such great care of our home. We couldn’t have asked for better guests. It was an absolute pleasure to host you, and I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay. We hope to meet you in person someday!
Sara and Brian were wonderful guests, laid-back and friendly in their communication. They were so kind to leave us a gift and took great care of our home. We would love to host them again and would highly recommend exchanging with them.
Sara and her husband were wonderful guests! They took good care of my home and we had very good communication, before and during their stay. They also brought for cute presents for Phuket! I hope we meet some day! Thank you Sara and Brian!
Sara and Brian took excellent care of our home. It was actually better than we left it because we had some wonderful goodies left for us. We hope to see them again soon when they come back to Sweden.
Sara & Brian - one of the rare couples love spending winter time in Europe! :) It was nice to see them in Vienna again! As we were fortunate enough to be in Vienna at the same time, I was glad to be able to spend active time with them.
We had the pleasure to have Sara and Bryan at our home, and it was a great experience. Communication was very friendly and easy, they were one of the bets guests we ever had. They took care of our home as it was theirs. We hope to see each other in the near future when they come for their next euro trip.
We had a truly wonderful experience hosting Sara, Brian, and Sara's mom at our home. We’re especially grateful for Sara's help with the purchase, alteration, and installation of the black-out curtains in our master bedroom—it makes waking up much more pleasant! Communication was flawless throughout the entire exchange, from start to finish. Sara kept us informed every step of the way, and her thoughtful check-in and check-out updates, complete with photos, gave us extra peace of mind.
Sara also shared her sightseeing adventures with the PLU community, offering us (who are part-time in Osaka) plenty of fantastic tips and recommendations for future visits. They were the perfect guests and left our home in immaculate condition, ready for the next visitors. We would be thrilled to welcome them back anytime they wish to return!
They are also lovely to have in your home, took care of our dog and were nice company for our housekeeper.
Thank you for the gifts there was really no need. I ate all the goodies by myself and didn’t share with my children at all!
We had the absolute pleasure of having Sara and her lovely family stay in our apartment for three weeks while we were away. They were the perfect guests and left our home clean, tidy, and with fresh flowers. Sara was very reassuring and sent photos when they left as we were not in Sweden yet. We would love to have them stay in our apartment again sometime.
It was a delight to meet Sara and Brian and welcome them into our home. They were both easy to communicate with and super warm and friendly! They looked after our place and kept it spotlessly clean, and also took great care of our cat which was appreciated!
We look forward to seeing them again when we visit Phuket!
Brian, Sara + mom are wonderful guests!
Great communication! Our exchange agreement was very quick as their travel plan matched well with our time away. It was fun to talk and laugh about a lot of things with Sara. Brian asked about different things around the flat, which showed how careful and respectful he was. We are grateful to this family, who took care of our home (and our plants) while we were a quarter of the earth away.
It was nice to see how they enjoyed Prague, it brought joy to us as hosts as well. We would definitely love to host them again should they plan to come once more.
Thank you, and we can't wait to plan our trip to Phuket in the near future.
Brian and Sara and their mother were the perfect guests. They kept our house in wonderful shape. When we returned everything was nicely taken care of.
Sara, Brian and Elaine stayed in our place for 6 days during Christmas for a Globe. They were keen on experiencing the “cold” North. ;) Communication was easy and fun and even though we are not home yet, I know that they left everything just fine. I hope we can meet in person somewhen and have good laughs together. Looking forward to the gifts from Thailand!
We are honored to be Sara and Brian’s first PLU exchange. They are lovely, respectful and fun couple to host. I really enjoyed get to know them and hosting in our Seoul The communication was excellent! Sara even brought special gifts from Thailand.
We can’t wait to visit beautiful Sara’s home in Thailand in near future.
Sara, Brian and Sara’s mom,Thank you so much for coming to Korea and stay in our home. I am so happy that you guys enjoyed our place and fun city!
Best,
Dana
This was our first time visiting New Zealand and we could not have asked for a nicer home for our jumping off spot. Joanna and Dave's home has a beautiful view across the Alexandra Park horse track and you can see downtown Auckland across the way. It was a perfect spot to spend two weeks, whether we were lounging at home or going out. There are multiple bus stops and bus lines really close to their place that will take you into and around the city easily. We enjoyed Joe's Garage restaurant downstairs as well as having a huge grocery store literally as you walked out the door of their building. We could have spent ANOTHER two weeks there and been perfectly happy. We loved their home and would love to come back to visit Auckland again.
Anca was a great exchange partner. We had excellent communication along the way leading up to the exchange. While at our house she kept us informed of what was going on, including all the rain (sorry, Anca!). Glad she finally got a few days of sunshine towards the end of her stay. Being the first of a string of PLU exchangers she left our place in great shape, even sending us pics upon departure. We'd welcome Anca back anytime.
Poznan is a great city in Poland to explore. Anna's home is located in a great spot, you can walk into old town or easily take the tram. We walked to Cathedral Island and Srodka, even to old town. We loved her beautiful condo and we ended up picking up a lot of things from the store downstairs! Anna was also very communicative and a super easy swap partner! We highly recommend stopping by Poznan and a stay at her home.
We did not rent a car, so relied on walking and trams and only explored inside the city. We spend a lot of time just relaxing at home!! Thank you Anna!
Where is Holmestrand and what is there to see or do? We didnt know, but I'm glad we decided to find out!
Terje and Anne's condo is right by the Holmestrand marina. Restaurants, shopping, cafes are nearby downstairs, and we were able to walk everywhere. The condo was comfortable and we slept like babies there.
You will need a vehicle to see more of the towns around Holmestrand. It's supposed to be easy to go into Oslo from the Holmestrand station (across the street), but they were doing track work, so we ended up completely bypassing the capital. Instead, we visited the nearby towns which all had their own vibes. The Norwegian summer in the countryside and by the water is truly something special.
And finally, it should be noted that they are one of the rare hosts that you will always remember. Generous and gracious. We implore them to allow us to return their hospitality one day at our home!
We loved this home! Very cute and cozy home with lots of room. We ended up hanging out a lot at home. Brian's place was to hang out on the deck/patio out back. We were here in the summer, so there was plenty of daylight hours to enjoy the patio.
With bikes or scooter rental, super easy and fast to get into downtown, but also easily walkable if you're uncoordinated like Sara. Lots of walking paths to town.
There are other scenic spots outside the city, but you may need a car to get there. There is bus service in town, but it's walkable if you're ok with walking.
If you are lucky enough to exchange while Fredrik and his family is in town, they are such generous hosts. They were always reachable if we had questions, and are really a wonderful family. It's not just an exchange, we have new friends now! We look forward to welcoming them back to phuket next year!
Federica and Andrew are great guests! Always communicative, and we love that they ask questions because it shows they are taking care of our home! We also worry if our new friends are enjoying themselves, and it's reassuring to us lol
They are definitely welcome back anytime, and we only wish they could have stayed longer. Hope to meet them in person someday somewhere in the PLUniverrse!
David is a returning guest, and we love that he came back! Great communication as usual, very easy exchange partner 😀
Teresa and Masami were last in a handful of back to back exchanges, so we appreciate their patience and understanding! Teresa left before we returned home, but sent pics. Everything looks great, and thank you for replenishing some items for us! Hope to host you again 😊
What a cute, cozy English country cottage! We honestly had no idea where Cheddon Fitzpaine was located when we finalized the exchange.
It's a bit in the countryside (so charming!), so you'll need a car. HOWEVER, it's a great location to do multiple day trips out to Bristol, Bath, Dunster, etc. You can easily get to all these cities that are just a bit too far from London.
Definitely recommend an exchange with Federica. Warning: the bed is unbelievably comfortable, so try not to sleep in too many days! 🤣
Monika was a great guest and was communicative at all times. She was part of a handful of back to back exchanges, so we thank her for her patience and for her help in preparing our home for the next guest.
We hope she enjoyed phuket and maybe we can meet up when we head south later this year!
Irena and Linas' home is so roomy and comfortable! We spent many evenings, and even some lazy days, just watching TV and relaxing. Their home was well stocked with everything you might need, and they were communicative and always available for questions.
We spent a lot of time in Stockel for shopping, eating, and using the metro to get into Brussels. Very convenient, 15 min walk away. We can't wait to welcome them to Phuket in 2026.
Deanna is easy to communicate with, and took great care of our home. She was part of a series of back to backs, and was absolutely helpful in getting the home ready for our next guests. Great exchange partner, and we hope to meet them in Canada in the near future!
Lisa has a super comfortable home with a super location, right near the beach! There were a few days we opted to just stay home and explore nearby.
There is a busstop downstairs that will quickly take you to city center, or if you're feeling ambitious, you can walk there in about 20 minutes (we recommend riding out, and walking back). Our favorite supermarkets Aldi and Mercadona are only a few minutes walk away.
Lisa was always quick to respond to any questions, and easy to communicate with. Tarragona is a great city to explore, and Lisa's home a great base to do day trips from. It was our first time in Spain, and we love it. Thanks Lisa!
Fredrik and family were a delight to host. They really seemed to enjoy our island, and we get much joy from seeing that! They were very easy to communicate with, and helped us out a few times with home stuff. That is the beauty of home exchanging. They were part of a handful of back to back visitors, so we appreciate them prepping the home for our next guests. Great family, looking forward to meeting them when we visit them this summer!
We came to Eva's home in the off season. We've heard Afytos is very busy in summer but was quiet during our trip (which was fine by us). We had plenty of room to spread out at Eva's house, we enjoyed the living room with two couches and a view out across town. There are a couple of restaurants, a market and a wonderful bakery within walking distance. We had a car so there were three nearby towns within 10 minutes with even more options. We also took some road trips around Halkidiki, to Thessaloniki and even over to Vergina and Veria. Eva was easy to contact and always available whenever we had questions, she's a great host. Eva left us some wonderful treats when we arrived which we greatly appreciated. We look forward to welcoming her and her family to Phuket in 2026!
Outside of hospitality stays, Muriel and Paul were the first guests ever that we met in person prior to "turning over the keys"! It was a good opportunity to meet such experienced exchangers. Very thankful for that. We even had a quick dinner with them.
They were great guests, and communication always easy. Thank you for stopping by our corner of the world!
We did a sim exchange, and Josephine and Love were part of 5 back to back stays at our home. We are thankful for their help in prepping our home for the next guests. They took great care of the house, the next guest said the house looked great! Communication was easy and quick, and we would welcome them back any time. They are a wonderful family!
Josephine and Love's home is so cozy, the definition of hygge! We had a wonderful and comfortable stay at their home. Bright and cheery, and we just honestly hung out at home a lot. Easy bus access that'll get you anywhere you need to go. Nice Hemköp supermarket downstairs as well. Thanks for letting us experience Stockholm again! They are a wonderful family to swap with!
We had a very wonderful stay at Brigitta and Rene's apartment! It was very comfortable, and convenient to the airport bus stop and an easy subway ride into city center. There is also a supermarket right downstairs, They were great hosts and a wealth of information about Vienna. Our regret is that we were not able to stay longer for this trip. Thank you Brigitta and Rene!.
Jenn and Gui's home is in a perfect location for extremely easy access to trams and right by Saint Peter train station. You can go anywhere and everywhere from their location.
Cozy and comfy home, and Jenn and Gui were always available if needed. Great communication. 👍
Grocery markets very conveniently nearby. Lots of ready to eat items to purchase, zero need to cook.
Great base to explored Belgium and beyond. Thanks Jenn and Gui!
Leah and Rob were fantastic guests at our home. They were very communicative and kept us abreast of what was going on while we were away. They even left us some additional dishware and a new blender 😆. Thanks, guys! They were part of a bunch of back to back exchanges, and gave us zero worries about the home being ready for our next guests. We look forward to visiting them one day. They are welcome back anytime!
It was a pleasure to have Mari and her family stay at our home. I love hearing from our guests while they are there, as it gives me joy to know they are enjoying their stay.
Communication was easy and fun on WhatsApp. They were even nice enough to leave our housekeeper a tip (unnecessary, but very thoughtful).
Hope to meet up with you one day!
We loved staying here!
Where should we start?
Location wise, it's in Sakai, which is south of Osaka downtown, BUT only a quick walk to the Sakai station, and a cheap 290yen on the NanKai line to get to Namba. You can transfer easily to daytrip to Kyoto and Nara. Everything is quite convenient logistically. There's shopping at the Sakai station, and we've bought lots of ready made food for dinner when we were too lazy to eat out but still wanted Japanese food.
And Sakai is a big enough city with it's own very fun activities. We actually spent a lot of time exploring Sakai, and wish we had more time to explore cities south of Sakai, like Kishiwada. We hope we can come back again and also try going out to Hiroshima and Kobe.
Communication with Teresa was easy peasy because she never seems to sleep haha.
Highly recommend exchanging with Teresa and Masami.
We had a simultaneous exchange, and we had great communication with Janet and her husband JP during our exchanges. There was a problem with our car battery, but JP took care of it. They had also bought some beach items for use and graciously left them for any future guests to use. Thanks!
What a great home! Lots of room to spread around, and it even has its own St. Bernard, Bella! We particularly enjoyed sitting on the large terrace in the mornings.
The home is right by Yas Island, which has many theme parks and attractions, and a very snazzy mall.
For other sights, Janet's helper Mr. Raju was nice enough to drive us, and we also used Uber or taxies. Rates are quite reasonable. We even did a quick side trip to Dubai.
Our visit in July/Aug was too hot to do much outdoor exploring, so we enjoyed staying at home some days and were treated to Mr. Raju's fantastic cooking. There is a Waitrose grocery downstairs where we (mostly I) overindulged in boxes of baklavas and deli salads we can't get in Phuket. Food heaven.
Janet and JP were great about giving us recommendations and were easy to communicate with. We had a great time there! Thank you!
Communication with Sarah was great from the start. She and her family took great care of our home while we were gone (even doing some minor repairs to a cabinet. Thanks!)
We had guests before and after Sarah and she was so helpful in receiving our home from previous guests and handing it off to the PLU guests after her. Sarah and family are welcome back anytime.
Oh my gosh, Jeta's home is the perfect spot for experiencing Stockholm. Great location with two bus stops less than 5 minutes away and a subway station less than 10 minutes away.
Her place had everything we needed to have meals at home or places nearby to go out (as well as multiple grocery stores and some lovely bakeries nearby).
I loved sitting on her balcony with a morning coffee overlooking the park. We loved Jeta's home and could not have enjoyed our three weeks here more. Jeta provided us with everything we needed and even met us upon arrival to give us a tour.
We hope Elizabeth and her family had fun in Phuket! Easy to communicate with and I'm sure they took care of our home and left it in great condition. We are traveling and our neighbor says "👍"!
Can't wait to meet them when we visit home later this year! They are welcome back anytime.
Alejandro stayed for 1 week at our home with his wife and cute son, along with his mother in law. Easy communication and they were great guests! We're very glad we were able to get this somewhat last minute exchange done, everything worked out!
We hope they enjoyed Phuket and our little Panwa area. They even found a new massage place for us! Thanks!
Thanks guys! We certainly loved your place and the area, nice and peaceful, and close to everything you need really, including lovely beaches, amazing Thai food, massages, etc.
Look forward to another exchange in the future! Thank you :)
It was a pleasure to host Ruth and Simon! They are warm, friendly, and fun 😁 seasoned travelers! They had an extra two days stopover in Phuket and we're glad they decided to hang out with us. Every time we host, it gives us an opportunity to "re-see" our little island. So thank YOU! Hope you enjoyed your time here!
We did a last minute one week non sim stay at Claire and Lloyd's lovely home in Singapore. We had the chance to meet with them before they left the house, and they are super nice and friendly 😊.
Their home is in beautiful Robertson Quay. Although not directly on a subway station, the bus stops right in front of the complex, and honestly, using the bus is so much easier. Minimal walking in the heat lol. They are central to most everything, and walkable to multiple food hawker centers. There are also many upscale restaurants across the river as well.
We didn't get a chance to enjoy the pool since we were out most of the time, but their friendly cat Hans was always there to greet us when we got home!
It was just the 2 of us this time, but even with more, there is plenty of room to spread out!
We hope to host them in our Phuket home one day soon. Thanks guys!
We absolutely enjoyed hosting Brigitta and Rene, and getting to know them! It's unfortunate that a last minute work requirement cut your trip short, but you gotta make the € !
Hopefully we showed you some good parts of Phuket. Maybe you can come visit again in the near future! We promise no more chicken feet for Rene!! 😆 🤣
We are so glad to have met Meher and Peter! Hosting is a very rewarding experience...you get to meet new friends from all over the world from different backgrounds!
We hosted Meher and Peter for 2 days and they are great guests, never complained about us dragging them around all day haha.
We hope to meet up with them again one day soon!
I don't know about who dragged who ...I think it was us wjo fid yhe dragging :) Brian drove us all over whilst Sara and I went yackity yack at the back. Thank you my dears and will make the second meeting happen in India, Thailand or Australia...
Tu& George's home is so cute! Tu was in constant contact with us and had some great recommendations in her home manual. It was very convenient to transportation (tram/train/bus/subway). Easy to navigate around using the transportation app and Google maps
Anyone visiting Prague (which is a gem) should contact Tu and George. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
We haven't returned home yet, but I'm sure David and Michaela left it in great condition. He even caught a leaky toilet. Glad he was there and it didn't need to leak for another 2 weeks until we got home.
Easy and quick communication, wonderful guests 👍
We arrived at David and Michaela's home at night and was met with a lit up Christmas tree inside their cosy home! What a nice welcome! There were also some treats for us, and lots of helpful post it notes 😆
The stairs upstairs were a bit tricky, so thank you for making up a bed for mom so she could sleep downstairs.
Zero communication issues, and helpful transportation instructions to Helsinki and other locations. It was super easy to walk to the supermarket and bus stop. Downloading the HSL app is a must!
Thank you for exchanging with us and giving us a true "White Christmas", truly memorable! I think we've seen enough snow for now 😆
Where do we start? There are so many things we loved about this home and Maike really made sure we felt at home .
Location wise, right on top of 2 supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants, and a quick walk to the subway. Easy to get to city center.
The home is perfect size to just hang out if you feel like staying home, it's very cozy and comfortable. The kitchen had everything you needed, and communication easy and quick with Maike. We'd love to come back one day!! Thank you for having us!
Rachel and her friends were great guests! I didn't realize it was both our first PLU exchanges (her to Phuket, us to Seoul).
Easy to communicate with, took care of our home, and even left us a gift! We hope she had a great time in Phuket. You are always welcome to come visit us again!
This was our first ever home exchange, and WHY did we not do this sooner???
Dana's mom's place was perfect for the 3 of us. Easy access to buses and subway, and the neighborhood restaurants (because it's residential not tourist) offer delicious food for a good price. We initially thought we'd use the kitchen to cook, but it's just easier to eat out!
Dana was always available if we had questions, and it was great "living like a local" experience 😊 Thanks PLU and thanks Dana and family!
We're waiting to welcome you to Phuket!
(BTW, love how your mom uses the dehumidifier, we're stealing her idea and getting one too)
