We live in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood with a beautiful view of Lake chapala and the mountains of northern Mexico. Lake Chapala is said to have one of the best year round climates in the world. Our winters are mild and our summers are even better. Our hottest time of the year is mid April through mid June, but even then it's very comfortable with low humidity. Mid November through mid January is the coldest time of the year and some people even wear long pants. Lake Chapala is tourist area for Mexicans and there are also 10,000 fulltime english speaking expats from around the world living here. There are so many wonderful and affordable restaurants in the area you may want to eat out every meal. We are only an hours drive from Tequila, Mexico where you can taste the finest tequilas in the world. It is a beautiful small town and easy to spend a day there. There are many day tours available. Tonala and Tlaquepaque two towns next to each other that sell the best crafts of Mexico. Tonala is about a 45 minute drive from our home. You can spend a delightful day exploring the two towns with a private or semi private tour.
Der Raum
We have a spacious one bedroom casita with one bathroom and a small but usable kitchen. It has a private patio overlooking a beautiful heated swimming pool that is of course open to our guest. There are fans in every room. The casita has been remodeled to modern standards and has a nice Mexican vibe.
Gastzugang
The casita is one level but you must go down a flight of stairs to access it and another flight of stairs to access the pool. It is not wheelchair accessible.
Anmerkungen
We live full time in the house on the property and the casita has only been used by friends and family. We have not rented it out. We are looking for reciprocal or non reciprocal exchanges or hospitality stays. We have 3 small chihuahuas and a cat. All are very friendly.

Nachbarschaft
We live about 5 minutes from Chapala, and 15 minutes from Ajijic, Mexico and 30 minutes from the Guadalajara airport. There are two hotels close to the neighborhood. in the neighborhood there are about 120 houses. Many of them are vacation homes. it is very quiet but only a short drive or bus ride to get to town. The Lake Chapala area and our neighborhood are very safe.
Rumkommen
It's a 15 minute walk to the closest bus stop. We go into town almost daily and would be happy to take guest with us. Currently it cost about $5.00 US (100 pesos) to take a cab one way into Ajijic. If we are traveling at the time of your stay a car maybe available. There are local car rental agency's that are very affordable. (not at the airport, those are very expensive.) We can put you in touch with them. There are many private drivers that can act as tour guides to help you explore the area. Usually cost $30-$60 US per day.
