Neighbourhood

Hartford House is in beautiful Capitol View, in Southwest Atlanta. Capitol View has one of the highest concentrations of trees in the city. This is a real residential neighborhood...you can wave to all the neighbors as you lounge on the huge front porch and live like a local surrounded by Atlanta's famous tree canopy. Capitol View was one of Atlanta's original neighborhoods designed specifically for working people and for streetcar travel. This intentional design ensured homes were of modest design and therefore were accessible to a wide range of residents, with a wide range of income levels. Luckily, the neighborhood remains diverse in this way. Diversity is a bonus that Capitol View has that other Atlanta neighborhoods have lost. We love that we can offer a great home for a price that makes exciting travel to Atlanta possible for anyone. The tree canopy in Southwest Atlanta is the densest in the entire city. Because of this, guests have a pastoral experience, even though they are minutes to downtown. And if the street trees are not enough, you can walk to one of Atlanta's park gems--Perkerson Park.

Getting around

Hartford House is a quick walk to the train station, and transit cards to borrow are available. The home is only a few minutes drive, or a few train stops, to and from the airport. Uber or Lyft can take you anywhere in the city, typically very inexpensively. And since Atlanta is still in most ways, a car-centric city, a car is a great way to get around the city.

Travel is one of the most important priorities for our family of four. We have been traveling the United States (our home country) since are kids were babies - we have seen all 48 contiguous states. We love traveling... and we are so pleased to be able to offer our nice and comfortable home to other fellow travelers at a reasonable cost. We have seen most of the United States, up close and personal, and we know Atlanta is one of the most welcoming, interesting, and exciting cities in the country. We think the city offers something for every traveler and our small neighborhood of Capitol View in Southwest Atlanta gives guests a chance to be in the city -- but also in a less frantic part of town. We absolutely love being able to host travelers in our home. We also LOVE nice people. We call our home nice and comfy and we are nice people We so enjoy opening our home to other NICE people. If you love historic homes in historic neighborhoods, love nice parks, and nice tree lined streets, you love nice comforts of a cozy home, you will love our Hartford House. We hope you come see us!
