We live in a small, charming village in the heart of East Jutland, surrounded by forest, fields, and meadows. Nature begins right outside our door — you can enjoy your morning coffee on the terrace while listening to the birds, or step straight out for a peaceful walk along the trails through the woods and open landscape.
Our village is known for its friendly atmosphere and for having the only round church in Jutland – a beautiful and historic landmark that gives the place a unique character.
Why we love living here
We love the peace, the space, and being so close to nature — and at the same time, we can easily reach the city when we want to. It’s a place where you can truly unwind, enjoy the changing seasons, and still have plenty of experiences within easy reach.
The Space
Our home has a spacious living and dining area combined with a large open kitchen, creating a bright and welcoming space for spending time together. From here, there is direct access to a southwest-facing terrace, perfect for enjoying the afternoon sun or a quiet evening meal outdoors.
The living area features a large corner sofa, coffee tables, and several comfortable armchairs – ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring. The dining area seats around 10 people, making it perfect for shared meals with family or friends.
The main bedroom has a king-size bed (180 x 200 cm) and direct access to a spacious bathroom with a shower, sink, toilet, and both a washing machine and dryer for your convenience.
The second bedroom (about 10 m²) has two single beds and access to wardrobes located in the hallway, where you’ll also find the second toilet.
At the entrance, there is a practical hallway with space for coats, shoes, and bags – making it easy to settle in and feel at home.
Right from the terrace and the garden at the back of the house, you have direct access to our own little forest, “Hundred Acre Wood.” The entire property is enclosed by a low fence, hidden behind plants.
There are plenty of opportunities for games and play both on the lawn and in the forest, making it a wonderful place for children and adults alike to explore and unwind.
Guest Access
Our home is a single-story house with easy access to a basement, which provides additional storage space and houses the technical room.
Notes
Although our own children are grown up, we have plenty of toys for young guests to enjoy, including a large collection of LEGO, Duplo, and Brio trains.
Outside, there are several different garden games suitable for both children and adults, perfect for fun and friendly competition.
We also have a tent for camping, cooking equipment along with a camping table and chairs, so you can easily enjoy outdoor adventures right here or on trips nearby.

Mette
We are Mette and Bjarne.
In the summer of 2025, we moved to Thorsager, on Djursland. We’re really looking forward to new experiences with PLU.
In our daily lives, Mette takes the train to Aarhus, where she works as a speech therapist, and Bjarne cycles to Auning, where he is employed as a primary school teacher, working with students who have special needs.
In our spare time, we have many interests and activities: we enjoy sharing meals with good friends, working on practical and creative projects at home, and spending time in nature — both in our own garden and small forest, as well as in the beautiful surroundings we live in. We also take part in local community life through volunteering, the gym, and outdoor activities, and luckily, there’s still time left for cultural experiences as well.
We’re looking forward to getting started with home exchanging again. Some years ago, we were part of another platform (HomeExchange), where we successfully exchanged homes several times and had wonderful experiences together with our three boys.
Our sons are now grown up and have moved out, so it will usually just be the two of us exchanging homes — though sometimes we might travel with friends or our children.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
