Neighbourhood
Valby is a suburb of Copenhagen, just an extended arm of the hip hood 'Vesterbro'. The local shopping center 'Spinderiet' is right in the center and stretches from 'Tingstedet' to the train station. In the district there is a lot of industry, sports, theater, cinema, bowling center, concerts, swimming pool, coffee shops, small quaint shops and about 10 schools. The hood also has several major green areas, such as Valby Parken, Vigerslev Park and is close to Søndermarken (which belongs to Frederiksberg). In short, Valby has it all.
Getting around
From the airport to our house:
Easiest way is to purchase the tickets in the ticket machines (which accept Danish cash and the most common credit cards) in the arrival hall - You will need a 3 zones ticket. 3 zones adult ticket is DKK 38,-. Children's tickets are half price. Click here for more information on transportation from the airport.
Alternatively, you can download an app where you can buy the tickets. The App is called 'DOT Mobilbilletter'. It also costs 38,- DKK (around 5 Euro) for an adult single trip ticket from the airport to the city centre/Valby. Tickets are valid in bus, train and metro. Download the app "DOT Mobilbilletter" App Store and pay for your tickets on the go. Click "Indstillinger" (settings) followed by "Sprog" (language) to select English version. From there you can select the fare you need and enter your credit card details. You can also buy your bus, train and metro tickets online.
Finally you can take a taxi. Taxis can pick up passengers outside terminal 1 and 3 and will get you to Valby in about 25-30 minutes depending on traffic. It will cost approximately DKK 300,-.

Traveling around the City:
When traveling around the city it might be worth bying a Copenhagen Card. You can buy them in the at the Service Information in T3 and at DSB in T3. Read more about the card here: https://www.visitcopenhagen.com/copenhagen/planning/copenhagen-card
Copenhagen has been named as the 'Most Walkable City'. And I agree – it is easy to get around Copenhagen i on foot - especially if the weather is cooperating.
