General Overview

What I love most about my home is its silence. A silence full of life: birds, wild animals, the wind between the cacti, the crunch of the earth under the sun. Casa Tejones is located in a private reserve of approximately 120 hectares, in the high desert of Baja California Sur. Although we are only 30 minutes from the city of La Paz, the surroundings feel completely cut off from the world. The house was designed to blend in with the landscape. It has a steel structure and windows that frame the mountains, the open skies and the sunsets. From the terrace you can freely watch the animals move in the distance: deer, badgers, foxes, birds from different regions. There is no hunting here, only respect for what inhabits this territory. It is a place for people who value privacy, contemplation, the art of living with less and feeling more. It is close to the sea and the village of La Ventana, where I have been kiteboarding for 15 years. That's why I decided to stay in this place: because here the soul finds space to breathe.

Guest Access

Guest Access A private refuge between sky and desert Casa Tejones is located within a private nature reserve, in a wild and silent setting that we offer for lodging only during certain seasons of the year—sharing it with guests who value tranquility, contemplation, and respect for Nature. It is a space conceived for those who wish to disconnect from the fast pace of the world and reconnect with what truly matters: calm, the landscape… and oneself. The property features high-speed Starlink internet, allowing for the perfect balance between deep rest and remote work, without losing the serenity that surrounds this place. During your stay, you’ll enjoy exclusive access to the entire residence and to a wide expanse of land enclosed by game fencing, with private trails, contemplation areas, and open spaces that invite you to experience the desert in its fullness. Other Aspects to Consider The house is surrounded by nature in its purest form, within a reserve that protects exotic free-roaming species. It’s common to encounter wild animals—birds, bobcats, badgers, hares, and even species from other regions. Observing them from a distance, without interfering in their path, is part of what makes this reserve so special. The House Casa Tejones rises from a bare steel frame, with clean lines and honest materials. It is a contained presence—one that reflects human craft without imposing itself on the land… not seeking to impress, but to embrace. Every corner is designed to offer shelter, calm, and connection. From the window that frames the mountain to the silence carried on the whistle of the wind, everything here invites you to inhabit the present…

Getting to my home

Getting to my home The ranch is located about 40 minutes from La Paz International Airport. The route is as follows: • From the airport, you first drive through the peripheral area of La Paz city heading outwards (about 10–15 minutes). • Once outside the city, you continue on a paved highway for approximately 23 km. • At the end of the paved road, there is a 3 km dirt road in good condition, accessible to most vehicles. During the rainy season and shortly after, a higher-clearance vehicle may be required. The total drive takes around 40 minutes by car. With your booking, I will provide detailed step-by-step directions and the exact GPS location to make your arrival simple and straightforward.

RAFAEL

Hi, I'm Rafa. I live on an off-grid ranch 30 minutes from La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico. I am a lover of nature, tranquility and meaningful experiences. The ranch is a private reserve near the sea and the high desert mountains. I like to share spaces that are in harmony with the environment and with the soul. I enjoy the simple life, the connection with the animals and the silence that remote places offer. I seek to exchange my house for long stays in quiet places, surrounded by nature, where I can live seasonally calmly and fully. The ranch is located just 25 minutes from La Ventana where I have been kiteboarding for 15 years and it was the reason why I decided to live in this wonderful area.
