1930s house on the edge of the city, for non-smokers. A small garden at the front where the sun shines from early in the morning until around 2 p.m. A small backyard with flowers and sun until 10 p.m. in summer. Quiet friendly helpful neighbors.
In no time you will be in the OpenAirMuseum (Dutch Open Air Museum), a real must-do! Next door is Burgers Zoo, for a day of adventure. There is a lot of beautiful nature around the city. Arnhem had an old center. Good shopping and dining!
By car you can reach Utrecht within 45 minutes, and Amsterdam, The Hague or Rotterdam within 75 minutes. Come back and rest in my beautiful home. I live as eco-friendly as possible.
You can use my bikes if I leave them behind.

Neighbourhood
Take long or short walks in the parks of Arnhem or the forests around the city. Take a tour of the many castles in the area. Further on, visit the Hanseatic cities (Zutphen, Deventer). Or stay in the city with a real fashion district, medieval buildings, watch a movie (3 cinemas), or have lunch on a terrace on the Rhine.
Ask for a city tour and take the glass elevator up to the main church. Do you dare to stand on the glass balcony?
Getting to my home
With public transport (train+bus) it takes 1,5 hours to get to my frontdoor.
By car it's easy to take the A12.(exit 26) then 5 minutes driving.

Getting around
Public transport is well organised. The super quiet 'trolleybus' stops in my street and runs to the center and the central station. By train you can reach Utrecht in 30 minutes and Amsterdam in 65 minutes. It is a bad idea to go to Amsterdam by car. Parking is terrible and expensive, unless you use a Transferium/P&R!
Use www.9292.nl for all public transport in the Netherlands. It's also an app.

Idealistic entrepreneur (63) in healthcare and welfare (including Bach Flower Therapist) and non-smoker. I live as ecologically as possible. Sometimes I travel alone, sometimes with my daughter (22), sometimes with a friend.
I love culture and nature. I am up for short exchanges (3-7 days), a longer period must be 2 months in advance.
My house is in Arnhem, close to the German border between many forests. The city where I live is historical, cultural, modern, friendly, green.
I prefer to travel within Europe and avoid planes, except when I can make an exchange with Canada.
For November I am looking for a home exchange in London!
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
