Log cabin built in 2022, traditional style but with all mod cons, in the Stockholm archipelago (mainland). Paradise for nature lovers, only about 100 meters from the Baltic sea, and with forest behind it. Access to a semi private bathing jetty 200 merers away. Great walking/hiking trails directly from the property. Sea views from all rooms except the guest WC. The cottage is 2 bedrooms; one with a premium double bed and one with a pullout single bed that can be pulled out for a double. In the summer there is also a 10 m2 wood cabin with a queen size bed. Close to nice excursions to the quaint town of Norrtälje, a large nature reserve, a popular seaside hotel with spa and restaurant, and in the summertime easy access to daytrips to islands in the archipelago.
The Space
The cottage is 65 m2, on a 3700 m2 plot, with a lawn, meadow and trees. Apart from the main cottage there is a small wooden cabin for further accomodation. A gravel lane and forest track ate next to the property.
Guest Access
The cottage is designed to be wheelchair accessible. Only aid needed is a ramp for the single outside steps. The cottage is situated on a slope, but with a driveway leading to the entrance.

Neighbourhood
Quiet coastal settlement with a mixture of summer houses and year round residents. Lots of unspoilt nature with lovely forest and seaview walks. The nearest village is 2 km away, and has a country store. nearby is a popular hotel/holiday cottages place with restaurant, spa, sauna, out door gym etc.
Getting to my home
The cottage is 1 hour easy driving from Stockholm by car. All except the last 6 km is motorway. About the same distance to Stockholm Arlanda airport. A car is convenient but not necessary, there is a bus stop 2 km away with connections to Norrtälje, and from there both to Stockholm and Arlanda airport.
Nearest airport
Arlanda, about 70 km
Getting Around
Car is again convenient. My car could be part of the exchange for short trips. 2 km to bus stop and country store, on quiet gravel road with sparse traffic

This sim exchange with Cecilia has been planned for 8 months and was more than one dream come true, 1. staying in a log cabin and 2. in the swedish archipelago and 3. bringing our much beloved dog.
So the waiting was long, but so worth it.
We were overwhelmed with joy when we entered Cecilias summer cabin, it was so cosy - and the view was truly stunning. The cabin is on a small hilltop, and you wake up to a beautiful view of the water(the cabin is in second line to the shore)
Neighbors are close enough, so you don’t feel secluded but it is still very private. When people drive or walk by on the road down below, the distance is far enough so that you won’t feel observed.
Cecilia gave us many suggestions for fun and interesting trips for the family. We really enjoyed a trip to the small island Arholma. We drove to Simpnäs/Björkö and took a 15 min ferry. But you can take a ferry from Norrtälje, the fare is aprox. 2 hours (with more stops in the archipelago)
We visited both Stockholm and Uppsala. Our son had a meetup in Uppsala and our other son enjoyed the museum Gustavianum very much (the university)
Communication with Cecilia was easy both before during and after the exchange. Cecilia is very kind and very helpfull.
We were welcomed by a sweet local gift and a nice cold bottle of bubbles and cinnamon buns in the freezer. (We had to go for more of these, from the local bakery, they were delicious)
Normally we would be exploring every day, we love to see as much as possible, but we felt so at home in the cabin and the area was so beautiful, so we “stayed at home” 2 days and just went for walks with our dog, and a small trip to Marholmen - (very close and it has a small beach - its a nice resort area)
This is definitely a perfect location for anyone that loves nature. (And books :) Cecilia has so many books, we even spottet one of her own publication.)
We would love to go back one day.
Cecilia and her friends were a joy to host. Warm and engaging, they treated my home as their own and left everything as they found it- as well as bringing me lovely gifts from Sweden. I am so pleased to have met Cecilia and hope to stay in touch into the future!!
Cecilia with her dog was excellent guests.
This was a a combo of a non-sim/sim- exchange as we had some overlapning days.
Communication with Cecilia was easy and very kind. She took time to give us recommendations even during her stay at ours, making sure we had the best experience/time at hers. This was above and beyound.
We came back to a tidy cabin, and not a single doghair anywhere.
Cecilia lend our kayak, and took very good care of it.
Cecilia was a delight to host. She was communicative throughout, and took care of our house, leaving it in a great condition. We love that she appreciated and took interest in the decor (we love collecting vintage) that we have. We can't wait to visit her in Sweden too, and would be happy to host her again.
Veronica and her family were wonderful guests, absolutely delightful. Easy communication beforehand, warm and friendly, forbearing/patient when there was an unfortunate extra bed malfunction the first night, brought very nice gifts and left the apartment in excellent order.
Tack för allt, Cecilia! Vi är otroligt nöjda med vår helg i din mysiga lägenhet.
Katrina’s home is almost new, very comfortable, clean and well appointed. The kitchen is a chef’s dream. Nice garden for sitting out. The house is a great base for exploring Enniskillen and the surrounding areas. It is in a quiet location on the outskirts of the town. Katrina gives excellent suggestions about what to see, and where to go. She is a wonderful hostess, very kind and generous. It was very nice to catch up again with her and her friend Catherine after they came to my cottage in May.
Thank you Cecilia, it was wonderful to see you again and meet your friends. Thank you for the great care you took with everything and your generosity!
Eva and her family were lovely guests in my cottage. Communication was easy. Eva was very helpful in adjusting my dates slightly when a wedding invitation turned up and there was a bit of a clash with dates. She and her family were very enthusiastic guests, which was very nice, and super helpful when leaving, with offering to do sheet and towel laundry, which of course was beyond expectations.
Eva’s cottage is a lovely place for R&R and as a base for exploring the very scenic and idyllic area. Easy to reach from Copenhagen. It is a luxury that it has its own sea frontage, at the end of the large garden, and with a bathing jetty very close by. Eva very kindly lent out the family kayaks, and it was a treat to be able to go out on a lovely, calm morning, straight from the property. Sea views from the cottage and beautiful sunset views from the end of the garden. The cottage is not too big, but very well planned, and very clean and tidy. Communication was easy and Eva provided excellent advice about the local excursions/attractions.
It was a pleasure to have Rustam and Efti as guests. Easy communication setting up the exchange, they kindly treated me to a nice cafe', it was very nice to meet and I got valuable tipoffs for when hopefully visiting Portugal this autumn, and they left the apartment in excellent order.
Eunice' and her husband's apartment is a gem, in a lovely neighbourhood in the 17th arr, and it is a treat to stay there. The apartment is in a beautiful building, is beautifully decorated, very clean and very well appointed. Comfortable even in a heatwave. The street is very quiet, and at the same time the area has lots of nice restaurants, cafes and shops. A very nice neighbourhood, away from mass tourism areas and at the same time with easy access to other parts of Paris. Eunice is a very helpful and generous hostess, leaving detailed guides, delicious gifts and even ready to use travel cards!
Katrina and her friend were lovely guests! Easy communication, very nice to meet, and left both the apartment and cottage very tidy, plus were so kind as to leave presents from Ireland. Recommended! A funny detail regarding the name People Like Us; Katrina's friend's luggage included a canvas bag with the same Japanese art print as I have myself. We compared them in the hallway!
It was a real pleasure to meet Miranda and her daughter and have them staying in my apartment. Warm, friendly, easygoing and enthusiastic. Smooth communication, and left the apartment very tidy. Highly recommended guests!
