General Overview
The sea public beach with modern promenade and scenic coastal paths are just 250 m from the apartment complex; the place is perfect for a solo-traveler or a couple with or without a kid. The flat has got superb high-speed Wi-Fi, a new TV with apps, and is facing West from the 6th floor with a window wall and a balcony, overlooking beautiful roofs of the neighborhood and a mountain ridge on the horizon.
The Torrevieja area in Spain is widely recognized for its unique microclimate created by two large saltwater lagoons (Laguna Rosa and Laguna de la Mata) and surrounding salt flats. This environment with low humidity is considered one of the healthiest in the world, often recommended by health specialists for improving respiratory and skin conditions. The high salinity and mineral-rich air solves breathing problems, and waters and sunshine cure psoriasis, rheumatism, eczema, etc.
The Space
Although it's a pretty humble apartment, it's got its own style. The bed mattress (160x190) is very comfortable; there are also a sofa bed (135x190) with new mattress topper, several pillows and blankets to choose from. Linens and towels are provided, and the kitchen is well-equipped.
Guest Access
You will have both rooms at your disposal. The building has got new elevators, and the gated area offers a mini market, a beauty salon, and is very safe.
Notes
I expect you to leave my place pristine and well ready for the next guests, but since I'm also an experienced Airbnb host, cleaning can be arranged for an additional fee of 50 €.
I have got reviews I may share upon request. I'm always in touch via messengers, happy to provide you with advice to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Lmk if you have questions!

Neighbourhood
There are 340 sunny days a year in Torrevieja (Alicante is #1 in Europe), and salty mineral air to breathe and heal everything! The area is close to the center of the town and has a lot of shops/restaurants options. You can take sea walks along the promenade that starts just 200 m from my house - it's perfect for jogging or biking too! The Consum big supermarket is around the corner. You'll be happy to find out that everything is less expensive in this part of Europe!
Torrevieja is a home for different sport events, regattas, SOL film festival, and is often called the "British capital of Spain" as the majority of people/businesses come from the UK or Scandinavia, so they all speak English.
Getting to my home
There is a very convenient Costa Azul direct bus from the departures area of Alicante airport. The ride costs 7 euros pp and it takes only 50 min to get to the town, and then a 15-min walk to the apartment complex along the Avenida de las Habaneros. See the bus schedule here https://costazul.net/en/
I may also help to organize a very reliable private car transfer from ALC airport for you. The service is about 45 euros (while the taxi ride is about 60-65).
Nearest airport
2 airports: famous Alicante or Murcia-Corvera
Getting Around
The parking is free, but you don't necessarily need a car here: there are busses to get to and from La Zenia (the Largest Shopping Mall), La Mata, Orijuela or Guardamar Del Segura. Car rentals are quite cheap in Spain btw - check it out @ doyouspain.com.
If you come by car, then thermal complexes, golf fields, Ancient Cartagena with its Roman Theatre and Murcia with its fabulous Cathedral and Royal Casino are within 50 mins drive. Fancy Benidorm that never sleeps is 1 hr 20 min away. I also find Santa Pola, Mar Menor and Villajoyosa interesting places to visit.
You can take a bus to La Mata or Punta Prima beaches. There's also the Cabo Roig Coastal Path (Sendero Azul) is a 2.5 km (approx.) scenic, family-friendly clifftop walk in Orihuela Costa, Spain, stretching between Cala Capitán and La Caleta. It offers stunning views of the Mediterranean, red cliffs, and the historic Cabo Roig Tower, forming part of a larger 16 km promenade connecting Playa Flamenca to Campoamor.

Katherine's apartment is very clean and located near the beach.
However, Torrevieja and its surroundings did not suit us and we left after 3 days instead of the 15 planned.
I had such a lovely experience with my first house exchange in Torrevieja. The host was incredibly kind and welcoming, with excellent communication from the very beginning. She provided clear, detailed instructions before my arrival, which made everything feel easy and stress free. During my stay, she was always available to answer any questions, and even recommended her hairdresser, which was a really thoughtful touch.
The house is located in a beautiful, peaceful neighbourhood just a few minutes from what I consider the best beach in Torrevieja. There are also plenty of great restaurants and bars nearby, so everything you need is within easy reach.
I stayed during the second half of April, and the weather was surprisingly lovely, mostly sunny, and warm enough to swim on many days. On the few cloudier days, I enjoyed long, relaxing walks along the picturesque shoreline all the way to La Mata.
Overall, it was a wonderful first exchange experience, and I would happily do it again.
We stayed for 9 days in Katherine’s apartment in Torrevieja. Her apartment is very well situated within walking distance of the beach, shops and restaurants and was an ideal size for the 2 of us. It is very clean and well kitted out.
Katherine was always available to answer questions. Zhanna met us at the apartment when we arrived late on a Sunday night to give us the keys and to show us the apartment. That was much appreciated, as were the 2 new lifts to bring us to the 6th floor!
We were a bit unfortunate with the weather during our stay – Katherine couldn’t help us there! Torrevieja really depends on the sunshine, so, as it was overcast and rainy a lot of the time, we were glad to have the car. We spent a couple of nights in Cartagena visiting friends, and the city is definitely worth a visit. It is a more traditional city, with lovely sidewalk cafes and interesting historical sites to visit.
Torrevieja is well situated in that it is not too far from Cartagena, Murcia and Alicante so you can have a mixture of sun holiday and sightseeing holiday from here.
Thanks Katherine for your hospitality. I hope you enjoy many years of happy travelling!
Katherine’s apartment is in a great location close to 2 different beaches. Many nice restaurants and cafes in the neighborhood. Grocery store Consum is just around the corner. Nice views of the city from the 6th floor and a balcony to enjoy your coffee on. Only downside is the bathroom is very small but other than that we enjoyed our time in Torreveija. Thank you again Katherine!
Katherine was a great communicator. Our exchange was finalized quickly and, her communication before and during our visit was prompt and clear. Key pick-up and drop-off was easy. We stayed at the apartment for 2.5 weeks and enjoyed our time living more slowly compared to our usual lifestyle. I would consider Torrevieja a retirement community, with around 40% of the population 60+ years of age. The apartment is 10 min walk to the beach and 20 min walk to the downtown. We walked the beach almost every day. The views are stunning and the beaches are clean and not overcrowded. There are several grocery stores near to the apartment including some open 24 hours. During our time in Torrevieja, found several restaurants and shops that we enjoyed including METRO, which became my go-to spot for coffee in the morning. Thanks for sharing your apartment with us and we look forward to welcoming you in Budapest.
So glad you enjoyed your stay! I guessed you preferred Del Cura beach to Los Locos, which is closer - yes, many retired people prefer coming and walking the beach off-season, but there are plenty of live music shows, discos and various parks for kids too! Welcome back - hope you'll see more places next time!
We spent 6 great days at Katherine’s apartment in Torrevieja and loved our stay. The apartment was tidy, comfortable, and in a perfect location—just a short walk to the main promenade and the Los Locos beach (our favorite). Kate is super kind and helpful, always quick to respond and gave us some great suggestions for things to do and places to eat.
We spent most of our time enjoying the sun and sea in Torrevieja, but also took a day trip to Alicante and another to Cartagena, all really beautiful cities with a great vibe and food.
Exchanging with Kate was a lovely experience and we’re very happy. Thank you Kate, we hope you visit our apartment in Albania some day 🤗
Khaterine's apartment is not very big, but it is enough to comfortably accommodate about 4 people.
It has everything you need to feel at home. It is very easy to park your vehicle and the location is ideal, 200 meters from the beach, restaurants and other supermarkets... What more could you ask for!
The exchange was made at the "last minute". Thanks to our host we had a great stay in Torrevieja.
We were delighted by our short stay of 6 nights and it is with pleasure that we transferred our globe so that it can travel to other skies.
We spent a lovely autumn holiday at Katherines apartment in Torrevieja.
Her place is situated very conveniently, just a short walk from the beach, and within walking distance from many shops and restaurants.
For people who like warm weather and the sea, Torrevieja is a perfect place to go. There are other interesting places within easy driving distance, no more than an hour by car.
Our communication was easy and clear from the start, and Katherine was very considerate and helpful with any question we had.
We only travelled with one of our children, which was convenient because the sofa bed might have been a bit narrow for two teenage girls.
Thank you, Katherine, for the wonderful time we had at your home.
Katherine came twice this summer, but these were her 3rd & 4th times in Montreux, so I guess she has a thing for the Swiss Riviera… who wouldn’t love this paradise? It’s great having someone who knows the apt & the town so well. I always know Katherine will take great care of my place & that she’s very responsible & diligent. Will there be a 5th time? I hope so! Thx, Katherine!
Katherine is « at home’ in Montreux, this being her third stay. It’s so easy for me having someone who knows where everything is & who takes seriously taking great care of everything. Many thanks, Katherine & welcome back anytime! Lynn
It was a pleasure hosting Katherina at my place. She was a very respectful and considerate guest, leaving everything clean and tidy. Communication was smooth throughout, and the whole experience felt easy and positive. I’d be very happy to host her again in the future.
Katherine was an extremely friendly and open-minded guest. Communication with her was great, and she took great care of my apartment, leaving it perfectly clean and tidy, and even left me a few nice gifts. I was really happy to do this exchange with her and her friends. Thanks for everything Katherline
This was Katherine’s second stay in Montreux. It’s always lovely to have PLU friends come back, Katherine as a solo traveler is especially easy to host. She is a good communicator, sensitive & kind & leaves the house in perfect condition. Many thanks for your return visit, Katherine.
Katherine has been a wonderful host in our apartment. The discussion was easy and she let our apartment pristine. She took a very good care of our plants on the balcony and we are eager to have her again if she wants
Katherine is an ideal guest ~ a good communicator, and very concerned with leaving the place in great shape for the next party. She is very welcome to come back.
Katherine was our guest for 3 weeks. We had great communication with her before, during and after the visit. We came back home to a very clean apartment. She was always pleasant and asked questions when something was needed. She took care of our apartment like it was her own. We would not hesitate to have her back again as a guest. Too bad we didn’t get to meet her upon our return but maybe next year.
Feedback for Victor·Non-Simultaneous exchange·4 nights
Victor's home is very modern and spacious. It's located in a multicultural area close to the metro (which is very nice btw!) and very near a big supermarket. Thanks to the great ceiling fan in the bedroom, my stay during one of the heatwaves was comfortable. The communication with the host was very easy and clear - I was happy we met upon my arrival and talked a bit. Thanks a lot for the exchange, Victor - I'll be glad to return one day and look forward to welcoming you in Torrevieja!
Feedback for Lynn·Non-Reciprocal exchange·9 nights
My 4th time at Lynn's was fabulous, as always. I felt "local" already, enjoyed meeting familiar faces while walking in town as much as returning "home" and taking care of it. That was a generous gift from Lynn, and I was very happy to stay for longer. Merci beaucoup my dear PLU Friend!
Feedback for Lynn·Non-Reciprocal exchange·7 nights
Returning to Lynn's cozy little heaven with the most incredible mountain view is always a great pleasure and my highest preference if our plans match. Lynn goes above and beyond preparing her apartment for guests, sending out the most detailed and clearest instructions, introducing PLUs to each other, always staying in touch from wherever she's, and even leaving some nice treats for every party in case someone arrives late in the night.
This year, Lynn got a TV with an Apple TV box - and I know Lynn did it for her PLU friends, too! That was very much appreciated since we experienced several heatwaves and couldn't be out as long as wanted. There are lots of apps, including the local SFR TV, so I could watch the World Cup big games on a big screen with a personal fan!
Thanks, Lynn, for being such a cordial partner and for trusting me your place again! I'm happy my 3rd stay happened to be even a bit adventurous. To be continued...
I always love having Katherine because from personal experience from previous stays I know how responsible & diligent she is to take great care of my place. Thanks for being a great PLU friend, Katherine!
Feedback for Charlotte & Jeff·Non-Simultaneous exchange·3 nights
Very strange second part of the exchange: first, Charlotte stopped communicating with me, and Jeff's style was, softly said, a mismatch: zero emotions, less interest in my own comfort (even if my home is secondary, I love it and spend a lot of time there). Then, no matter I adjusted my own days to fit their plans or updated my appliances - nothing worked, and they left my place very short noticed me and even without explanation. I don't think that's the best PLU practice, but the lesson's learned, so thanks anyway.
Feedback for Margarita·Simultaneous exchange·12 nights
Margarita was really like a family: respectful, attentive to all the details and treating my home like hers. She even managed to establish friendly relationships with my neighbors. We and our apartments, as we found out, have a lot in common, and I feel like I have got a real PLU sister now!
Thanks for the lovely exchange, Margarita! You're welcome back to Torrevieja any time!
Feedback for Margarita·Simultaneous exchange·12 nights
Margarita's apartment is located in a modern building in a very nice SW area of London and offers not only stunning panoramic views from the 9th floor with gorgeous sunsets, but very quick access to all public transportation, all the shopping you want, and a beautiful park with ducks and swans literally at your door step. The flat is beautifully decorated and well-equipped, so my 12-night sim-exchange stay was very pleasant. I'll definitely be happy to return to Margarita's place if she wants me to.
Although Margarita is very new to PLU, everything went nicely and smoothly: we had a WhatsApp call prior to our simultaneous flights and the keys pick-up/drop off was easy. The further communication has always been responsive and very friendly, and later we were even lucky to meet personally in London for coffee: such a lovely exchange of experiences and emotions in addition to our homes! Thanks for sharing all of that with me Margarita!
Feedback for Joan·Non-Reciprocal exchange·9 nights
Joan & Gerry were ideal guests: extremely friendly, positive and open-minded. Communication with them was always pleasant, they paid attention to details I mentioned, and took great care of my place like it was their own. I returned to a perfectly clean and tidy apartment, and even found a few thoughtful gifts. I was really happy to do this exchange and would love to have such nice guests back! Thanks for everything Joan & Gerry!
Feedback for Pietro·Non-Simultaneous exchange·7 nights
Marta and her family were lovely guests. Communication was easy from the beginning and all the way until the end, and they left the apartment very clean. I would gladly host them again if they ever wish to visit again.
Feedback for Pietro·Non-Simultaneous exchange·12 nights
I spent very nice 12 days at Pietro and Marta's spacious apartment, strategically located in a lovely calm neighborhood, right next door to the metro and only 10 min walk from Tuscolana train station. There're 2 big supermarkets around the corners, a decent shopping center just in front of the building, and lots of small shops/restaurants nearby.
Marta was a great communicator, always kind and responsive, and gave me lots of tips: it was easy for me to not only walk everywhere in Rome, but to use taxi/trains to the airport and the seaside.
Thanks a lot, Marta and Pietro, for letting me see Rome from a different perspective - it's a priceless experience! I feel very grateful for this exchange and would be happy to return one day if I can!
Feedback for Alyssa and Toan·Non-Simultaneous exchange·19 nights
Alyssa and Toan's spacious well-equipped apartment is located in the very vibrant heart of gorgeous Budapest. Their kind neighbors were a great bonus: they all met me with open arms, and we had lots of nice conversations. The exchange included cat-sitting (by default), but both of them are very nice and absolutely adorable - I miss them a lot!!!, since we became real friends too. I stayed for almost 3 weeks, and it was a bit challenging for me alone (there was too much of fur, of course), but I believe we found some understanding re that with Alyssa, so I'd be happy to take care of the "kids" next time with some "help" should they need a sitter.
I felt welcomed by Alyssa and Toan and slept comfortable. Probably the only thing I was missing was some sort of a coffee-machine, but I managed. The city has so much to offer, that there is not enough space to describe! I even visited the Operetta! Thanks so much, Alyssa and Toan, for your friendliness and sharing your living experiences with me! Of course, I can only recommend you as partners.
Feedback for Brigitte·Non-Reciprocal exchange·9 nights
My friends and I were happy to stay at Brigitte's for 10 days. Her beautiful apartment is located on the French side, next to GVA airport runway, 200 meters from the border with Switzerland. There are 2 big supermarkets near the house, and the prices in France are much lower than in CH. We travelled by car to Annecy, by buses to Chamonix and Geneva, and by train to Lausanne & Vevey - everything was very convenient.
We especially enjoyed the first floor of the apartment, which also has a big terrace. The second floor was rather narrow for 3 adults since there's lack of soundproofing and the ceiling in the shower is very low, but other than that our stay was superb. The best part during the whole process was the communication with Brigitte, who was always responsive and very kind. I hope we'll exchange again and can highly recommend her as great PLU partner. Thank you, Brigitte!
Feedback for Lynn·Non-Reciprocal exchange·8 nights
That was my second time at Lynn's, and I already look forward to the third one.:-D The communication with Lynn is always a pleasure: she provides very clear detailed instructions and valuable pieces of advise. I enjoy learning from Lynn and feel grateful for her kindness and friendliness.
I've been deeply in love with the spectacular view from Lynn's balcony and the Montreux area in general: spending time there gives me lots of positive energy. There's also a mineral water Vernex Fountain just 5 min walk down the hill that dates back to 1765 - very nice therapy too.
While it's expensive to live in Switzerland, the quality of food and services is very high, and I appreciate that. Also, I find Swiss culture very unique, and I have lots of respect to the people: everybody is polite, helpful, and privacy matters.
Thank you very much Lynn for another great opportunity! I hope to be back again and to meet you also in person if I'm lucky!:-)
Thank you, Katherine, for your very kind & enthusiastic review. You’re an equally splendid guest in every way. It was lovely coming home after nine weeks away to a spotless house & freshly made bed. Merci beaucoup for everything! Lynn
Feedback for Lynda & Robb·Non-Simultaneous exchange·7 nights
I looked forward to Lynda and Robb's visit and felt excited to come and prepare the place by myself. Unfortunately my next flight was earlier than they arrived, so we didn't meet personally. Although it seemed we were always in contact and all details were very clear, still I've got a feeling there was a little miscommunication. I hope they could enjoy their stay, sincerely thank them for the visit, wish best travels and happy to recommend or have them back as guests.
Feedback for Charlotte & Jeff·Non-Simultaneous exchange·17 nights
I'm very grateful to Charlotte for initiating that exchange: Montpellier is really a hidden gem! I've been also to Sete, Nimes, and Palavas-les-Flots: all can highly recommend to visit!
But most of all I enjoyed the great spacious and beautiful apartment in the very heart of the spectacular old town: the location is unbeatable, although I hadnt known about any plants to water or problems with the neighbors because of resonating floor plates (so had to tip-toe) before the exchange was finalized. Nevertheless, thank you so much, Charlotte!
Feedback for Alyssa and Toan·Non-Simultaneous exchange·16 nights
Alyssa and Toan were my guests for 2 weeks. That was their first time in Spain ever, so I was very pleased to welcome them. The communication before and during their stay was easy and pleasant - we even managed to meet shortly in person. They kindly brought very cute souvenirs from Budapest and did their best to leave the apartment as it was found. Alyssa is very friendly and asked questions when something was needed. Thanks for visiting and taking good care of my apartment, guys - I hope you enjoyed your days in Alicante area! Happy summer and maybe see you later in the year!
Feedback for Edit·Non-Reciprocal exchange·7 nights
It was a great pleasure to welcome Edit and Loren. They are ideal guests: very tidy, kind and respectful, and attentive to details. They left me a wonderful cordial note, a delicious chocolate, but more important - warm memories about their visit and our superb communication. It's a pity they couldn't stay for longer, but I hope to be able to return the favor and come to their place, so this has been just a "comma" and we'll stay in touch. I highly recommend exchanging with Edit and Loren to feel best PLU vibes!
Feedback for Laurent·Non-Reciprocal exchange·6 nights
That was a pretty last minute arrangement (one week notice), but Laurent and his Family were so great in communications that we all could make the exchange (Globe) happen. I even was blessed to meet them in person: very nice people indeed! They left my place as it was found, treated it as theirs: very tidy and meticulous guests, can recommend, and they will be welcome back here anytime!
We feel lucky that we had the chance to meet you, eventhough the encounter was short, it was definitely sweet.
Katherine will go out of her ways in order to make you feel welcomed and at home.
She is a good host and I believe Human Being overall. To be continued....
Eva and her family were my guests for one week. Our communication before and during the visit was ideal: Eva was always pleasant, responsive and asked questions when something was needed. I came back home to a clean apartment, and even some very delicious meal was left for me too! I'd be happy to host such nice people again.
Feedback for Lynn·Non-Reciprocal exchange·12 nights
Lynn's apartment is well maintained and has everything you need for an excellent stay. The open view on the lake, mountains and sunsets is stunning and really made my days there! The main train station is just 10 mins walk down the hill, but since I arrived about 10 pm, I took a taxi - still it was challenging to find the place in the dark. The weather got quite rainy, but Lynn has got a good library, so I enjoyed my staying in too. As per agreement with the host, I left everything cleaned and ready for the next guests. Thank you very much Lynn for your hospitality and for the R card - it was really useful!
Felt like home!!! Linda & Robb have got a great place to live and share. I got really lucky: from the well-thought design of the appartment with the best ever sunrises from 11th floor and its centralized location (Cristal Palace gardens, best views!!) to the most friendly communications with the owners all the way. What else to wish for? Just for them to enjoy my place as much, and for the return to wonderful and beautiful Porto! Thank you so much Linda & Robb for making my dream true!
