General Overview

We have a spacious three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment that is our primary residence in the Bicuda neighborhood of Cascais.

The Space

Our apartment has a great room with a leather sofa/recliner, an additional sofa that is also a sofa bed and a small balcony. The views from our apartment are stunning. The apartment has a kitchen with a table that seats 3 comfortably, a dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. Two of the bedrooms have a shared balcony. The master bedroom has a queen bed and en suite bathroom with a shower. The second room has a queen size bed and additional balcony. The 3rd bedroom has a twin bed. The second bathroom has a bathtub/shower and both bathrooms have bidets. The main living area and the 2 main bedrooms have a/c. Sunset from our home are especially spectacular.

Guest Access

You use keys to access the units and we are on the 3rd floor with no elevator access.

Notes

We also have access to a garage with 3 bicycles that can be made available.

Neighbourhood

Just outside our home is the bicycle path that will take you to the beach (11m bike ride) to Guincho Beach. We are a 4m walk away from an Organic grocery store (Mundo Bio) and a 15m walk away from the Lidl. Public transportation is also easily accessible.

Getting to my home

We are an 8m drive, 14 -19m bus ride to the center of Cascais or a 45m walk. Once in Cascais you can take the train into Lisbon 40m and the metro to the airport. Street parking is available about a block away from our home. The Lisbon airport and the center of Lisbon are 30m by car. Ubers are plentiful. An uber ride to the airport costs around 25 euros each way.

Getting Around

Walking is the easiest way to get around and we also bike everywhere. We do not own a car and find that we do not need one.

We are an active family of 4. I was born in Miami, Florida in the United States and my parents are Venezuelan with Basque & Portuguese heritage while my husband is from Scotland but raised in Australia. We have 2 boys (ages 17 and 11). I work full time as a teacher so mostly looking for exchanges for one week in Spring (varies based on the school calendar),the last week of October and Christmas holidays (last two weeks of December or first week of December and first week of January). We may also be available sometimes for summer exchanges although usually we stay home.
