The Space
Our apartment has a large eat-in kitchen with a breakfast bar that seats 2 comfortably. Neighbourhood
Costa da Guia is a fabulous neighborhood. We have multiple restaurants and cafes with waterfront views just three blocks away. We have three grocery stores within walking distance, plus bakeries, cafes, a bicycle store that offers rentals, a pizzeria with a play area for kids and a produce stand plus several butcher shops. The immediate area around our building has parks and green spaces and just three blocks away is the bicycle path that will take you to downtown Cascais or to the beach.
Getting to my home
We are a 10m bus ride to the center of Cascais or a 30m walk. Once in Cascais you can take the train into Lisbon 40m and the metro to the airport. You can also park a car outside our home (free parking). The Lisbon airport and the center of Lisbon are 30m by car. Ubers are plentiful. An uber ride to the airport costs around 25 euros each way.
Nearest airport
Lisbon Airport is 30m by car or uber.
Getting Around
Walking is the easiest way to get around and we also bike everywhere. We do not own a car and find that we do not need one.

Happy to show people around and share what we know and love about our new home.
Maybe I'm too fussy..but I'm sure glad I brought my own sheets and towel since there were none left for me
It's a good thing I wasn't planning in cooking, since all posts and frying pan are black and greasy..it went right along with smelly place...the chandeliers are hanging by its wires, probably because of the weight of dust on them..I was very disappointed..and not surprised when I came home to have to clean my place..on a 3day exchange..for food shop its a 15 minute walk..Cascais center is a 30 minute walk..but nice along the shore..
We had clean sheets in the master bedroom, we did not think that a single guest would choose a teenager's bedroom instead- WE could have provided clean sheets for this bed as well but before we could offer, to do so, she told us she had brought her own sheets. Clean towels were provided and we let Milu know where to find these but again, she indicated she did not need these as she had packed her own.
The pots and pans are non-stick black steel, which always have a sheen. Our cleaner spent five hours giving the house a full cleaning so there was no smell. Some chandeliers do hang by wires, an oddity of ours. We thoroughly cleaned the apartment before we left and can provide dozens of our B&B stays praising the condition of our cleanliness at the end of each stay. We interrupted our visit to return early at her request without complaint, despite the hassles of rescheduling.
We love staying at Helena's home as it is centrally located and within walking distance to Cascais downtown and municipal market. Helena also communicated really well. Thanks Helena for let us stay at your home
Helena and family communicated really well & left our house clean.
Milu´s apartment is lovely and is located in a very central location that is ideal for exploring Braga. The elevator is ancient, does not align with floor level and did not work one day, forcing us to walk up six flights of stairs. The TV did not work despite us doing our best to follow her instructions. The bedroom air conditioners use a hose to a baking dish to expel water that require frequent emptying to stop water from spilling onto the sidewalk. The apartment is spacious with 2 bedrooms that is recently remodeled, immaculately clean and impeccably decorated. We think couples without kids or solo travelers would be the best fits for this prisine environment and its particular owner.
We loved staying in Efti's home. It was so comfortable and convenient for exploring Coimbra and the surrounding area. Everything was so well explained in their home manual. My favorite thing about exchanging with Efti was getting her recommendations about where to eat locally. I am still dreaming about the delicious hot chocolate place that we never would have visited without her recommendation.
Efti and her husband were perfect guests. We loved hosting them!
