General overview

Art Deco harbourfront apartment in Kurraba Point, just a few minutes from the city. Very quiet with beautiful views right on the city's doorstep. Our garden goes right to the water with a jetty to kayak from, and shared tables and BBQs available there.

The space

A spacious light-filled 1 bedroom apartment with generous rooms and high ceilings right on Shellcove Bay. So quiet you can leave the windows open at night to hear the waves lapping below. The apartment has charming views of the bay and shared gardens. There's also an entertaining area and BBQ at the water's edge. From the rooftop deck area you can enjoy the city lights and fireworks.

Guest access

A one bedroom apartment with a huge kitchen and generous dining and living areas. We will put our personal items in the second bedroom. You can spend your time on the water, boating or kayaking in the bay, or on the rooftop terrace soaking in the sun. The property has its own jetty. You can call for a water taxi or catch the ferry nearby. The ferry to the city is just three minutes walk away and the delightful ferry ride to the city takes nine minutes. There are 20 steps down to our front door from the street. Then 12 steps take you to the garden. The apartment itself is all on one one level.

Notes

Our apartment is close to the start of the famous Cremorne Point Walk which follows the harbour all the way to Taronga Zoo and then to Manly. You could walk for a day and then return home by ferry. Here is a link to some of the amazing walks nearby. https://www.trailhiking.com.au/cremorne-point-to-mosman-wharf/ Wendy Whiteley's Secret Garden is near Luna Park - a magical garden created by an artist and donated back to the community. It is free to wander through and picnic - and there is a fabulous boulangerie just steps away LouLous with baguettes and coffee. We have two good bikes that you are welcome to use and a kayak down on the waterfront.

Neighbourhood

Two minutes away you will find our charming local cafe near the ferry wharf. The historic house 'Nutcote' is just around the corner as are restaurants and the locals' beach at Neutral Bay wharf. Beautiful Balmoral Beach with its white sands, tiny island, cafés, boat hire and excellent snorkelling is a few minutes drive or a fifteen minute bike ride. While you are there you could try the Balmoral Bathers Pavilion restaurant famed for it's excellent menu and sublime view over the beach and harbour. The city of Sydney is a short ferry ride away, with the Opera House, many art galleries, Botanical Gardens and so much more. When you catch a ferry to the city you can hop on another ferry to visit the amazing beaches in Manly, Watson's Bay and Neilson Park. Take a ferry to Manly and go surfing or snorkelling at nearby Fairy Bower. Take a picnic and the ferry to Shark Island in the middle of the harbour. It is a tiny island and for some reason you will often have it to yourself. It is gorgeous.

Getting to my home
