General overview

Northwestern Michigan was just selected as one of the top 10 most beautiful places in the world to visit in 2024 by CNN. National Geographic Explorer as called Northport the “quintessential summer sailing village”. ABC viewers have voted Leelenau County the most beautiful place in America on more than one occasion. Northport has about 600 residents, several art galleries, 6-8 restaurants, beaches, a dog park, a marina, a weekly farm market, a grocery store, a public library, several other village parks and hiking trails, and there is a beautifully landscaped golf course. Our house is the only house in town that borders it. Every thing in town is a 10 minute or less walk. You are allowed to drive golf carts in tow too. There is too much nearby to include here. There is even a marijuana store. Legal in Michigan

Neighbourhood

It is really quiet and peaceful. When the foliage is out you can’t see the house from the road or the neighbors. It is a real neighborhood.

Getting to my home

The airport is in Traverse City. Pickup may be possible. The whole county is popular with cyclists and they do come to Northport. There are buses from Traverse City too, but only during the day. There are many many miles of recreation trails in the county, but to walk here from the airport is a good 35 miles. People fly to Northport in their own plane an lots of people sail into bay.

Nearest airport

Commercial airport in Traverse 35 miles.

Getting around

Walk in Northport and drive or cycle to other nearby recreation and villages
