The den and living room EACH have a large TV with YouTube TV, Amazon Prime, Netflix and Britbox. There is also plenty of indoor and outdoor space at our Amenity Center for you to read or relax poolside. We have a beach cart for hauling everything to your spot on the sand...coolers, umbrellas, beach towels and beach chairs. We offer 2 air mattress if you have a need for separate beds.

A thoroughly lovely stay in Betty and Jay's fine home in Sarasota. The house has a very nice location and has all the necessities you could want. The house is also a short distance from both the ammenity center and the lovely pool area.
We used both the pool and gym, and enjoyed the short distance to the lovely beaches in Sarasota.
Communication with Betty was quick and helpful. Also when we needed a dental visit. Here, Betty quickly made an appointment for us, with their own dentist.
We can therefore only recommend a stay in Sarasota with Betty and Jay if the opportunity is available.
We now look forward to returning the visit when Betty and Jay hopefully visit Copenhagen sometime in 2025
We had a wonderful stay at Betty and Jay’s place. We had to leave early due to a family emergency but had a wonderful time while we were there. Their home is in a great location and very clean. Betty was always easy to communicate with.
We made a globe exchange and stayd for 1 week in Betty's beautiful home when we were on a long trip in the USA for 2.5 months.
Betty's home is very homely and has a lovely lanai overlooking a river. We loved eating our breakfasts and dinners there while we watched the birds and turtles. Their gated community has a great pool area with luxurious sunbeds and a shallow children's pool area. While we stayed in Betty's house we alternated pool hangouts and beach hangouts as the fantastic Siesta Key beach is only a few minutes drive from the house😍
Betty is such a caring host! When we arrived she gave us a warm welcome with a tour of her house, the local area and welcome gifts that made us feel right at home. She had even bought a cute little do-it-yourself dessert, which we could make with the kids, and it was very much appreciated by our 5-year-old!
A few days after we left Betty's house, I discovered that I had forgotten some very dear clothes in Betty's dryer. I wrote to her directly and Betty was kind and helped send them to another PLU member who lived along our way so I could get them back.
If you get the chance to exchange homes with Betty, do not hesitate for a second! Her home is lovely and so is she🥰
We had an amazing time at Betty’s home in Sarasota. We highly recommend visiting the area to explore beautiful beaches, botanical gardens the Chihuly museum in St Petersburg and array of great restaurants. Betty was wonderful to work with on the exchange and her home is located close to everything in a safe neighborhood. We hope to return to the area again.
Betty and Jay’s home is so comfortable and within days we felt like we were in our own home! We enjoyed all the amenities that come with her home in this gated retirement community. The pool is beautiful, the jacuzzi so relaxing and the people we met were very nice and welcoming. To be at their home for over 2 weeks, gave Gene and I the experience of what it would be like to be retired in Florida. Its a very safe community, very quiet, and everything in the home worked well.
Betty's home is perfection!! It is a true Floridian paradise! Very clean & located in a great location close to everything Sarasota has to offer! Betty was so wonderful to work with & our exchange was flawless. I had no idea how much there was to do in Sarasota not to mention being less then 10 minutes away from Siesta Key Beach was priceless! In addition my daughter absolutely loved the community pool & I loved the hot tub :) I highly recommend an exchange with Betty, if I had the opportunity I would exchange with her again in a heartbeat!
We very much enjoyed staying at Betty and Jay's home! Their home is beautiful and centrally located to all that the area has to offer. Betty is wonderful at communicating. I can easily recommend this home to others! We decided to close off our master bedrooms which we both found to make the exchange a better experience. Their home has ample room and the guestroom was more than sufficient for us! The bed was extremely comfortable, as well! I very much enjoyed having my coffee on the lanai, watching the birds on the pond. If given the opportunity, you will not be disappointed with your stay here.
We had a wonderful stay at Betty and Jay ‘s home in Sarasota. The home is lovely . We enjoyed the community pool . Watching the birds in the lagoon behind the house . We loved the fun tropical feel of Sarasota. Five minute drive to the beautiful beaches of Siesta Key . Everything was perfect ! This was my first PLU exchange and it was amazing! I hope to be able to exchange with Jay and Betty again .
We had the pleasure of being hosted by Betty and Jay in their clean, comfortable, nicely decorated Florida home set in a wonderful gated Community; we enjoyed the heated pool and nearby Turtle Beach on Siesta Key which is a short easy drive away. As it was our sixth visit to Florida we returned to some of the nearby must see places with pleasure and we were glad to meet with our American friends there. We also enjoyed sharing meals and conversations with Betty and Jay who are very friendly and easy to get along with. We hope to reciprocate by welcoming them to our house in Provence some time in the future.
Betty & Jay were wonderful exchange guests! We had excellent communication via PLU and navigated any pre-exchange questions easily. They took great care of our home and our cat. The house was spotless upon our return and Betty left us the sweetest gift from Siesta Key, FL... now I am interested in visiting their place LOL. Another great exchange is in the books!
Betty and Jay are a really lovely, friendly couple. They stayed in our house for a week over Christmas. They were the perfect guests, and they were great at communicating with us before and during their stay. They kindly left some gifts from the US, including some for our 6 year old daughter - which was really sweet. They left our place in an immaculate condition and we would highly recommend them to other PLU:ers. I'd welcome them back anytime to our home.
Betty & Jay were wonderful guests in our home this summer. They were great at communicating with us before and during their stay, took great care of our home AND our cat, and were in general fantastic people to have as guests. We would welcome them back any time. Thank you Betty & Jay!
Betty and Jay were the perfect guests in our home. When we opened the door to our house, after an 18 hour travel day, we saw how immaculate the house had been cleaned and prepared for us. We were so happy and ready to relax. Our communication from beginning to end was flawless and I knew I could trust my home with Betty and Jay.
I was correct and this simultaneous exchange, as our first one, was perfect for us. Thank you so much!
Betty and Jay were wonderful guests at my home. I found my home in the same condition I left it for them, plus a sweet gift they left for us! They are welcome back anytime.
Betty and Jay were wonderful guest . We spoke on the phone multiple times and emailed each other. I felt like we were old friends . They are excellent guest :)
Shelly and Bob's home was absolutely beautiful, well equipped and clean. We had good communication before and during the exchange with prompt responses from Shelly. Gypsy was an absolute joy to care for. We appreciate so much that the Elliott's trusted us by allowing a few family members to stay at their home with us for 3 days and that was so special to us that we had family time with our grandchildren. Thanks you, Shelly and Bob.
Feedback for Elin·Non-Reciprocal exchange·7 nights
Our stay at Elin, Nick and Grace's home was perfect. Their home is clean and bright with everything you need. The home was decorated beautifully for Christmas and the family left us thoughtful gifts that will invoke fond memories of our stay Elin was super responsive and helpful during our stay. The Underground was easily accessible to central London. Highly recommend this home and family for an exchange.
Feedback for Bjarne & Maria·Simultaneous exchange·10 nights
Bjarne and Maria were excellent guests in our home. We had health issues which necessitated turning our simultaneous exchange into non-simultaneous and that was easily worked out betweenus. We are looking forward to staying in their home in Copenhagen in the future.
Feedback for Darlene·Simultaneous exchange·6 nights
Daelene's home was a wonderful, peaceful place to spend a few days. It was clean and comfortable with a gas fireplace inside and gas fire table outside so we could enjoy the waterfront view. Darlene was very responsive in communication. Highly recommend a stay here. Thanks, Darlene and Richard
Feedback for Kristin·Non-Reciprocal exchange·32 nights
We had a wonderful stay in this historical farmhouse in rural Vermont. Kristin was very easy to communicate with. The house was well equipped for a comfortable stay. We took rides into the beautiful country side and found lots of covered bridges, local craft shows, and summertime music events in the various town parks. Thank you Kristin and family for sharing your home with us.
Feedback for Mikaela·Non-Reciprocal exchange·9 nights
Sometimes the stars line up as it did in this case. We were house and pet sitting and Mikaela and her family needed to fill in a stay in their USA road trip. So we were happy to receive a globe from them for our empty house. The Appelund family was a pleasure to have in our home. They took good care and left it in fine condition. Bonus... We got a smile on our face when we found one of our little toys under a piece of furniture thinking of the happy times they may have had in our home. 😊
Our exchange with Marcella was flawlessly smooth. She gave us suggestions on what to see and do and answered all of our questions promptly. Her home is a botanical garden with lots of plants and birds. The view over the valley and mountains was ever changing. The house itself was spacious and nicely decorated and had everything we needed. Costa Rica is a beautiful country with even more beautiful people. You will encounter smiles and everyone wishing you "Pura Vida". Thank you, Marcella.
Feedback for Carol and Gene·Simultaneous exchange·18 nights
We were so fortunate to have been able to exchange with Carol and Gene. We could not get enough of the ever changing view from the back of their home of the mountains, Kaneohe Bay, the historic fishpond and the iconic Chinaman's Hat. Wow!! The home was very clean and comfortable and suited our needs perfectly. We enjoyed restaurants, beaches, beautiful drives and museums. Mahalo, Carol and Gene.
Feedback for Lauren·Simultaneous exchange·9 nights
Lauren's offer to us for Thanksgiving week came just after our family plans changed so how great was that? Her beautiful, spacious home is in a quiet neighborhood with restaurants and stores close by. She is very easy to communicate with. Jay golfed 2 days with his son at a nearby open-to-the public course and we ate dinner at the restaurant there with awesome views of the Vegas Strip lit up at night. Vegas is known for gaming, shows and great restaurant but there's also lots of nature to explore. We visited Death Valley NP, Valley of Fire SP, Hoover Dam, and took scenic drives. We recently visited Grand Canyon NP so we skipped that but it would definitely be a highlight for someone who has never been. Highly recommend this exchange. Thanks, Lauren!
Donna and Scott opened their beautifully decorated mid-century modern home to us for a long weekend. The "use the guest bedroom and guest bathroom' arrangement we had made it easy to come home to our own personal bedroom and bath ready to use. Their location is quiet yet close to shopping, groceries and fun restaurants. We went on a mansion tour, visited a lighthouse and did a bioluminescence kayak tour. Atlantic Ocean beach access was close by. Thanks for a great time.
Lori and David's cabin was a wonderful place to spend some time in the mountains in the fall. We took hikes, enjoyed scenic drives and saw waterfalls. The cabin had everything we needed and was comfortably decorated and spotless. Beautiful views out of all of the windows....a peaceful place. A glass of wine around the fire pit was a nice way to end the day. Lori was quick to communicate and left us lots of ideas for what to do. Great exchange. Thanks Lori and David!
Feedback for Josette·Non-Simultaneous exchange·14 nights
We offered Josette and Gerard a hosting stay in our home without really knowing them or if we would ever go to their home. They are a delightful, interesting, fun loving couple that we were so glad to meet and spend some time with. They were very considerate, easy houseguests and we are so glad we met them. We look forward one day to visiting them in France.
Feedback for Bonnie·Simultaneous exchange·9 nights
We had a wonderful exchange to Bonnie and Joe's home in the mountains. It was cute and comfortable and Bonnie was easy to communicate with. We hiked to waterfalls and in the National Park, enjoyed local food and took scenic drives. Thanks Bonnie and Joe for sharing your home with us.
