Neighbourhood
Within walking distance are bars, restaurants of all kinds, large grocery store (Publix), Detwilers Amish grocery store, a pharmacy and 3 outlet style department stores which sell nice quality clothing at a discount. Just a couple of miles radius includes many more specialty grocery stores (Trader Joe and Aldi) and restaurants... many with WATERFRONT DINING. See the map location for our PROXIMITY TO WATER. Several farmers markets--some seasonal..but downtown Sarasota's is open year round. 1 mile away are BOAT AND JET SKI RENTALS for cruising the intercoastal and here's where you pick up the boat for PARASAILING over the Gulf of Mexico. Explore the mangroves on Lido Key with a kayak rental. Visit the Ringling complex with its 4 museums or attend one of the many theater productions, opera, ballet, polo, symphony...all in Sarasota. Enjoy a visit to Marie Selby Gardens. Old Florida is at its best at Myakka State park--alligators, trails, picnicking, canopy walk, boat ride, restaurant. Attend a spring training baseball game. Visit Mote Marine aquarium and take an enjoyable and educational boat tour of the intercoastal. Experience "the drum circle" every Sunday night at Siesta Key Beach... drumming, dancing, juggling, hula hoops performed by a cast of colorful characters who welcome you to join in. Ziplining and a vineyard are nearby.
