General Overview

Our home is located in one of my favorite sections of the city. You can walk to coffee shops, restaurants and bars or you can hop on the street car 3 blocks away and ride into the French quarter to shop at the French market and listen to some street musicians perform. There’s always live music, festivals and art to be seen. My house has a nice driveway with off street parking and I have a nice front porch and yard space to relax in. The space you’d be staying in is one half of our duplex. It is a one bedroom one bathroom unit with laundry and high speed wifi. There is a full size bed in the bedroom as well as a full size pull out floor/couch bed in the living room. The house has original hardwood floors and French doors. There is a corner desk for computer work and space to relax on the front porch and garden area.

Guest Access

Property does have stairs leading up the front porch. Apt is all one level. Guests have access to their private one bed one bath apt, they share a front porch with the other apt and shared driveway/front yard.

Notes

We appreciate guests who can take the time to leave the space mostly as you found it. We understand that you may not want to deep clean the space and that is ok but helping to remove your trash, don’t leave dirty dishes & prep the linens for washing is A++

Neighbourhood

Coffee shops, book stores, restaurants, parks; public transit, art markets, we live in a special section of the city which hosts a wild peacock named Mr. P - you may see or hear him while you are on the front porch or taking a walk.

Getting to my home

My home is 20-40 minutes from the airport depending on traffic. Unfortunately public transport to the airport and into town isn’t the easiest (it is possible but I’ve been told bits complicated) easiest way is by Uber/lift ~25-35$ or by taxi 35-40$ If you let us know we can arrange a ride for less $ in advance to try and help you get here if you are renting a car though you’ll take the shuttle from the airport to get your car and then your drive here will be about ~20 min not during rush hour

MSY - 20-30min (depends on traffic at most 40 min)

Getting Around

You will be 3 blocks from the Carrollton streetcar which rides all the way down to St Charles Ave and over into Garden District, Warehouse District and French Quarter. We are a couple blocks from bus stops which can take you all over the city We have off street parking if you have a vehicle You could rent a bicycle or scooter - always wear a helmet in the city! People drive wild sometimes
